Stunning location, can’t be beaten, Onsen access terrific.
Buffet sometimes the food was not as hot as it maybe should have been, or the heating areas need an upgrade. Tuna station was unbelievably good.

Hotel Urashima has a great location and offers a unique experience. The onsen inside the cave was wonderful, and the beautiful views from the top of the hill were absolutely worth enjoying. A memorable stay with fantastic scenery and a special hot spring experience!
We stayed for two nights and the buffet food was exactly the same. The choices were many and were very good, but would like to see some variations. The tampora was pre-made and was cold. Also, for breakfast, the choices were very good, but there was no cook-to-order service even though there was a person making Tamagoyaki right there.

Hotel Urashima is in a fantastic location by the ocean. It is a pretty quirky place - large, but extremely spacious, with spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful Japanese buffets and five onsens, two of which are in caves from where you have the sights and sounds of the ocean as you soak in the luxurious hot tubs. Perfect after completing the KUMANO Kodo trail.
Having to do the hotel’s admin for them by checking ourselves in at the DIY machine. I feel that should only be an option for those who want it.
