Hostal Colón was perfect for an easy, central stay in Cadiz. The family that runs the hotel was always available and went above and beyond to help out stay be comfortable. The building is located extremely centrally, making it the perfect location to get to see all the different zones of the historic center. The rooms are simple, well appointed and are a great place to get a good nights sleep. I highly recommend staying here.
Could be difficult for people with mobility issues as there are steep stairs.

Excellent location. Very traditional Spanish. Good facilities including free bottled water, tea/coffee making including cakes. Decor is traditional Spanish tiling.
I was on the 2nd floor. Missed not having a lift but what a stunning staircase.

Great location in a quiet street between Plaza San Juan and the cathedral. 15 minute walk from bus and train stations. Comfortable and good night sleep. Useful terrace to sit and enjoy the sun or night sky. Free water bottles and access to tea/coffee. Checkout at 12.00. Welcoming hosts. I would use the hostal again.

The wifi had too short range so signal strenght was too weak. Also, the transmission speed too low. I could not work properly. Had to sit in the roof terrace, still the speed was too low. Standard must be improved.
A small simple table, and a chair, should be in every room. That is usual standard too, in most hotels and hostels.
Some walls are very thin, noise from other rooms (bathroom especially) was both disturbing and annyoing.
