Great for a 4 night stay

What stood out the most was the amazing location and view over the river and the very friendly staff. Very close to all the facilities in Paihia plus a great Brewery within an easy walk . Spotlessly clean and the added unexpected complimentary breakfast was a bonus.

Being a few minutes out of town gave added serenity. A pity we had to move on.

The manager, Michael couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We had a room with an upper floor and a great view of the stream and grounds.

Apartment was reasonable clean but there was damp unusual smell.

Property was reasonable clean and location was good.

No wifi in our room, when I approached responsible staff member, he was so rude telling you have to keep your phone outside the window to have good signal. Even though i went out side to use single was good but internet speed was so annoying. After I made the complaint about internet. While I was away, person who manage property went to our room and was very rude to my wife. Asked my wife how many family are living in the apartment we booked, stated that my seventeen years old look like my wife’s brother. Lucky we have not had any visitors otherwise it would have been so embarrassing. My wife told me what happened, I was about to go and challenge the guy how dare he breached our privacy and accused for having multiple families in the apartment. However, my wife said she will go and talk to him (staff) instead. That person apologised stated that he thought our son was different family. We found it was very unprofessional. Won’t recommend unless people don’t have any other opinion.

Great stay with a beautiful view

An absolutely amazing place. At first glance it looks like a regular motel, but once you step inside you get this stunning view of the waterfalls, free kayaking, super convenient, well equipped. We made ourselves breakfast and headed on our way. The guy at reception was really friendly. We would’ve happily stayed longer.

Friendly helpful staff, spacious room with balcony view of waterfall, room reasonably clean and bed was comfy.

Kitchen cupboards where toaster etc. stored had a bad odour when opened, carpet very worn in patches, shower had a big step up and very limited TV channels.

Loved it!

The owner was sooo lovely and treated us to an upgrade AND a late checkout, for free! So sweet! The room was comfortable, very clean, had a very powerful heat pump, good water pressure and all the facilities we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything so we made breakfast in the morning before eating it on the balcony in the sunshine overlooking the Haruru falls. Superb!

We stayed here for3 nights in one of the 2 bedroom apartments while exploring the bay of islands. Michael was such a delight! He looked after us so well and thought of every little thing. Lovely little touches here and there that made it feel special. Great value for money and an excellent location! Will definitely stay again.

Very nice visit

Wonderful upstairs 2 bedroom apartment with sweeping river, falls, territorial view. Spacious accommodation, more than we are used to. Kitchenette, balcony with loveseat and dining table for 4. Lounge chairs on the waterfront and pool (currently being serviced and unavailable). Mr. Michael is an exceptionally nice host with plenty of local knowledge and suggestions for regional activities. Perfect place to unwind.

Michael the host was a real pleasure, very professional, warm and friendly and willing to assist us with our holiday adventures, making valuable suggestions on what to do, how to get from one spot to another, and booking our bay of island cruise to hole in the rock for us. Highly recommend Michael as one of the top hosts we've ever met.

For us, this was all about the location. We had a view of the falls from right outside our bedroom door, the gardens were beautiful, and it was close enough to the town (~3.5km) for easy access. There is a great trail nearby, too - good for running or walking. The property was undergoing some maintenance, and the pull wasn't full, but we can see that ordinarily, this would be lovely. There is no measure to just how friendly and helpful the proprietor is - Mike is simply an amazing host. The facilities in the room were quite adequate, if not entirely luxurious, and there were a few unexpected commodities given to us when we checked in - just a few neat extras that showed kindness and thought. More importantly, the room was clean and well maintained.

The only thing that was obvious was a bit of a musty smell, but we popped the air conditioner on to dry and this dissipated after a few hours. No doubt this was due to being right next the waterfall.

This accommodation is nice. We went to Cape Reinga and stayed over in this accommodation. On the last day we went to Paihia. The location of this accommodation fits our need for our travel.

There is no specific items that we do not like from this accommodation apart from the weather at that time. So, overall we like this accommodation.

Stunning location. Michael was so friendly and accommodating for our 8 month old. It's definitely a place you could spend a good week or 2 and not get bored. A great place for a family holiday. Will be back.

Location was good, view from the grounds were good, greeting was friendly when we arrived. The price was ok for the size of the room.

The ground floor room was noisy as the windows aren’t sealed so with doors closed you can hear traffic. The room had a musty smell that we couldn’t quite get rid of, and the room was quite dark. Noting a refresh wouldn’t help, but the windows may need sealing.

Yes would stay again.

Easy to find, quiet considering it’s on a main road, quick and easy to get to Paihia. Plenty of parking available. The Phat brewery is 150m away has great food and beer. The pool was clean and inviting although didn’t use it. Spacious unit with a couch for tv watching. Manicured grounds were clean and tidy. Each room has additional outdoor seating which is nice and a nice outlook to the falls. Staff were friendly.

The lighting is poor with various switches all around the room. Tv only has live programs so nothing extra provided.

Very good choice .

The falls motel , has stunning views. Michael who owns it was very helpful and has good knowledge of local history. Rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you would need ,and all at a very reasonable price. On our last day we had problems with our car starting .Micheal could not be more helpful and got us back up n running .I would definitely stay here again and would recommend .you won't be disappointed.
