Stairs a bit steep, wouldn’t suit those with physical difficulties

Overall loveliness of it and the staff.
Room cold and radiator wouldn’t work - staff had been struggling to get it regulated and had had work done. Door to room wouldn’t lock.
Staff however could not have been nicer and more apologetic.

The hotel is is in a lovely small quiet town.
Beautiful walks. The hotel is lovely and cosy with a rustic feel its friendly warm and inviting.. All the staff in the hotel are friendly and happy to help if you need them. The rooms are lovely and clean. This is our second stay and we've booked to come back next January. Its our little place of chill down time. Takes us away from work family life.
Food in the hotel is outstanding we ate there everyday lots of lovely food to chose from.
Only problem we had this time was the mattress was very worn and hard could feel the springs but still managed to get a few hours sleep. However this didn't impact our stay.

The atmosphere and location was amazing. There was plenty of parking and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious and had a evening meal that was delicious. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Very friendly clean and reasonable prices
No lift as it’s an old property but not the end of the world

Staff very friendly; great food and drinks at reasonable price.
The bedrooms are nice and clean, bed comfortable. We had everything we needed for a break in a 400 mile journey.
The bedroom was too cold for my wife - we asked staff to put the heating on, but following recent repairs, the heating was either on for the whole building (making the bar and restaurant too hot) or off (making the bedrooms cold).
We were told that planed renovations will fix this issue.
We did have to speak to staff twice to get the heating put on, but the restaurant was v busy for the number of staff on duty.

I had high hopes for this hotel and here are some of the pros; Check in was very smooth and simple. The hotel is situated in a very picturesque place in Balloch. Staff were very friendly. Good size room. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.
Some parts of the room that have been plastered need painted; should consider replacing the wardrobe in the room as it is looking a bit tired. There is no iron or hairdryer in the room, however we didn't require either but I didn't see any information as to whether or not I could request one. Although, we enjoyed breakfast, there wasn't much choice for our 13yr old who unfortunately didn't eat breakfast as a result. We were also sat at the very back of the restaurant for breakfast and people who came in after us, had their orders taken. I had to stand up for staff to remember we were dining.

The room was clean.
The food was excellent. I had the largest, hottest breakfast of our holiday.
The waiting staff were polite and efficient.
On arrival, we didn't receive the warmest of welcomes and felt we were an inconvenience.

Breakfast was excellant
Sparse dinner menu. Having paid for bed breakfast and evening meal and then told when checking in that the evening meal was capped at £25 per person was a shock as this was not made evident during the booking process,
There was also a very noisy extraction system from the kitchen near to our room.

would have liked a phone in my room rather than on landing but there were excellent tea and coffee facilities

The Bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in.
There was a good choice of food and drink available at a reasonable price.
The staff were welcoming and informative.
We returned there a couple of days after our stay for lunch.
The premises are quaint and very popular.
The security door upstairs needs sorting out because it depends on which door leaf you push whether it secures correctly, on occasions I just pushed the door without using my key which defeats the object.
This door is both for security and I also think it’s a Fire Door so very likely to fail an inspection.

Big room, comfortable bed, free car parking, hotel restaurant was excellent and well priced.
TV did not work (no signal), no view from window (frosted glass), difficulty in getting our suitcase to the room, we had a family room for a couple but the sofa bed was set for 4 people (so couldn’t use the sofa), wifi was a joke, high price for what we got!

Convenient location in Balloch, rooms were clean and well equipped. As this was a brief overnight stop we didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel but we did eat in the restaurant which was good. Service was attentive despite it being a very busy night.
Nothing stands out.

We are finding it difficult to find anything positive about our stay and our dinner/breakfast.
We had to wait 10 minutes at a vacant desk to check in and when we went to the bar to ask about check in we were rudely told we had to wait at the desk. Same thing happened when we turned up on time for our booked table for dinner and waited again for 10 minutes. The excuse was that they were busy with a function!! The waitress was unwelcoming and rude throughout our ordeal. We waited for our bill for 20 minutes and then after waiting 10 mins for the card machine we ended up going to the bar to pay. Next morning at breakfast, we found out that our inclusive breakfast was not a buffet bur actually a voucher for 10.5 pounds. This just covered Eggs Benedict so if wanted any yoghurt or fruit (as per usual buffet) I would have to pay extra. The waitress argued with us and said this was stated on our room booking (it was not). Very rude service and very disappointing. Staff training required!!!

if you are in Balloch this is a great place to stay. The restaurant has great food too.
our room was an interior one that only had a window that was frosted and looked onto the inside roof

The room was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was average.
My sausages on my breakfast were over cooked and difficult to eat. My husband was given a pint which was cloudy and then was told it was the end if the barrel
8.0 / 10.0
The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful despite being very busy. The breakfast was excellent with many interesting options. The room was spacious, with an excellent shower and TV. It was an easy walk to Loch Lomond and Balloch Castle.
The main issue we experienced was that our family room was very hot, even with the window open. The room would benefit from air conditioning or fans. My wife did not sleep well as a result.
