Retropera Hotel

I liked my stay at this hotel because I had a nice room with great view. Hotel is close to Taksim Square, although it was a little bit challenging to find it at first. Everything in the room was clean. worked and had pretty colors. I would stay in the same room again ( not sure of the other room sizes in this hotel ).

The room was very spacious, the staff was very helpful despite my late check-in and also helped me with my luggage. Location is comfortable, 5 mins of walking from Taksim square, the neighbourhoods might seem shady but actually quiet and there are a lot of bars/cafes around.

The room was clean but there was a smell of the cigarettes smoke.

This was a great hotel in an excellent location. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I spoke with Nooshin, Emren, and Kerem, and all of them assisted us whenever we needed help. The room was spacious enough for two people with two large suitcases. The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center, the metro, and Istiklal Street. I would definitely book this hotel again if I visit Istanbul in the future and would highly recommend it to my family and friends.

The only downside of my stay was the room temperature and the bathroom condition. I arrived on a cold winter night, and the room was very cold. After asking the front desk, they turned on the heater eventually around 6 pm, and it took quite some time to warm up. When I spoke to the owner about it, he handled the situation quite seriously; I felt he could have responded more kindly when I mentioned that I was shivering. Additionally, the bathroom felt outdated, and the shower design allowed water to leak onto the floor. As a result, the entire bathroom became wet and slippery. The fabric slippers provided were not safe to use on the wet floor, and my father and I nearly slipped a couple of times.

TV not working at all even reported maintenance. guests next to my room were very noisy and irrespectable during late night hours. Location is good near Taksim Metro Station, restaurants and Istiklal St. staff were nice and helpful.
