Location was convenient.
One of the nights we had no light in the room and no internet. They still charged the same price of course. Noises in the corridor would not stop the whole night, making it incredibly hard to fall asleep. That morning the alarm of the corridor also went off at 6am.

Location and stuff
The rooms need renovation and more rosettes near the bad.

location
very old hotel, I didn't like the sink being near the bed.

The room is clean and warm. The shower is amazing.
The room is too small. Except the receptionist who check us in, who was kind and helpful, the rest of the front desk is not helpful and unkind. I remember a blonde young man, wearing earrings, extremely unfriendly, looking at me like I was asking a favor every day I asked for the key room or when ones, I needed an information about bus. The people in the restaurant is also unfriendly.

There are important refurbishment works underway on the two top floors, noisy and dirty. Not only this was not indicated on the hotel site but the builders begun at 8am to hammer on the top of my room on a Saturday. When I complained the receptionist refused to call a supervisor since it was Saturday and nobody was there or supposed to be bothered.

Excellent location, we walked everywhere no need for public transport (furthest destination was a max 35 min walk which we didn’t mind)
After check in we dropped off bags (we arrived late, about 5.30) went into the city centre for dinner and a few drinks, came back at just gone midnight to our bathroom flooded literally could dance in the puddles towels just soaked up. My partner told receptionist who came and looked, said he would notify the manager the next day. Room dried by the morning but stunk of damp the next day. Weren’t told why the room flooded

Very good location and cozy room
No windows enough, small elevator and dangerous bed.

The receptionists were very nice and clearly used to apologising for the poor quality of the hotel.
This is the first hotel I have a) asked for a new room in and then b) proceeded to leave and move elsewhere after surviving only one night. Starting with going into our room, my partner fell down three steps as there were no working lights on the way into our room. Room is too strong a word, we had paid for a “deluxe” space, and found instead that we were in what appeared to be an old storage space, with a glass door added. A sealed box which smelled stale and was boiling. The much made of double shower was pointless, if you turned both shower heads on, they went cold. At 1am, we asked to be moved as it was impossible to sleep. We were moved into a room in the main hotel, one with a window at least. Success! But no. The window opened onto a hallway used as a smoking area so the room stank of smoke. The lights in this room didn’t work either, the bathroom was full of cracked tiles and had a broken mirror.
After getting a grand total of 2 hours sleep, we left, taking our reeking of smoke clothes and selves to a new hotel.

Quirky lovely hotel, really interesting decor, great breakfast and the BEST shower I’ve ever had!!! A bit dark in the hallway, but not a bad thing - atmospheric!
A kettle in the room would have been nice

Although not really central central, easy to reach from the central station. I like that there’s a hose in the bathroom. Easy access to the room also.
Very basic amenities. No fridge for my fruit & juicy stuff. Sunken bathtub was a bit scary.

Staff, history (style) and location
beds too soft and room 101 is out of shape
6.0 / 10.0
Location is good as I know Brussels but for tourists could be a little rough, not such a desirable area to return to late at night for newcomers
I did not like the old carpets, small room, mattress basically on the floor not a proper bed, shower curtain, tiny shower room, tiny sink in room
6.0 / 10.0
Comfort of bed good and in a good location for the area of the city I wanted to be in.
I didn’t have breakfast but it looked good.
The room allocated - or chosen unintentionally by myself - was overlooking a public terrace. Fortunately no one was using it as there could be privacy implications. Personally I did not like the 2 level arrangement and the stairs to the bed could be dangerous for the less sure footed.
It was just about ok for one night. Main ‘living space’ was unpleasant and uninviting.
There was a pleasant small pool and garden outside with loungers.
Other bedrooms may be perfectly fine but I feel the terrace rooms should be deemed unsuitable.

Buffet breakfast is served at the hotel (16€) worth it.
Quirky hotel rooms and plenty of space too.
Shower great power.
Staff at reception very courteous and friendly.
16 min walk to brussels central station for train to airport.
Plenty of areas around hotel to chat and relax with small outdoor garden sunbeds n small pool
Lighting in rooms is low voltage n in corridors

Staff are super nice and helpful! We found everything clean and during our stay, the room was being cleaned daily. It’s also super close to everything—the metro is 5 minutes from the place!!
It can use better lights. It is so dark. My mom, who isn’t much of a traveler was alarmed (everything was fine of course) but I do agree with her. For such a nice place, it is too freaking dark.

Love how strange the hotel is! Historically fascinating! The staff were very helpful and happy to aid in anything we needed.
My husband and I found the bathroom peeking window very entertaining, not in the way the original guests did, I imagine! the surrounding area was great as well and had some lovely bars and restaurants. Breakfast was very worth the money as well, yum!
If I had to say something, it was a bit noisy in the area at night. Not so bad that I couldn't sleep though. Not much the hotel can do about that! But if you are looking for something in a quiet area this might not be the one for you.

The room was unique, we were staying in the old side of the hotel, our superior room was "Antoinette" with a large bed, and bathroom, with sunken bath. Staff are great and helpful. The location was perfect for getting around the city. Four stops from the main station.

We enjoyed our stay here. Room was clean and relatively spacious for the price. The style/decor gives the place a lot of character which made for a much better experience than staying at a large chain hotel. Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was also great. The hotel is tucked away on a side street, so noise was not an issue, but is also near to many restaurants/cafes and a very short walk from some of the main tourist attractions in the city.

I really couldn't see where I was going in the dark corridors and nearly fell down the stairs twice

Room had only a small window so a bit dark, no decaffeinated hot drinks on offer

Nice charming hotel with a bit quirky, but fun interiors. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In the night it was quiet, outside and inside :)

In a side street of main shopping street. Quiet during the day, even more so after the shops close. There is a restaurant on site and coffee corner available for free for guests as there is no hot water kettle in the room.
Reasonably sized room with double bed and space to walk and sit. Properly sized en-suite with shower.
The bed is fine (def not soft) with good pillows, all well enough for a two-night stay.
Although modern some room items seem to date back to the 70s for some odd reason.
At a somewhat walkable distance from Central station, about 1 km, be it uphill.
Bonus point: around the corner is the birth house of Audrey Hepburn. It has a plaque.
The colour theme is Brown. Looks ok on the outside but goes on into the corridor and stairs and even in the rooms making it all very dark. The little lighting there is switches off too quickly to find the keyhole but with some fiddling the key fits. Lighting in the room is very minimal too.
The street is part delivery area of the surrounding shops, so it can appear messy and unwelcoming especially after the shops close. Entrance to the street is next to Burger King with some sketchy characters lurking around.
Ignore the emails you get about online check-in en check-out. They link to a third party site by the looks of it and it takes only a few seconds to sign check-in form. Same for check-out.
Overall a good sleep for two nights if you get a price lower than 80 a night.
Very unlikely these days.

The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely - a beautiful Art Deco vibe. And the pool area is gorgeous! Location was great as well and near lots of delicious restaurants.
It is incredibly loud - you could hear everything throughout the hotel because the walls are so thin, plus there's a bar outside on the weekends which was incredible loud. There was also a leak in my bathroom ceiling that dripped into the tub.

Location
The room is horrible! Disgusting! The bathroom smells bad and the room smells like mold. The furniture is old, the mattress is soft, bad to sleep. I do not recommend. 👎🏼

Beautiful room, touristy things in the morning, worked in the afternoon.
5.0 / 10.0
Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast that made up for much of other shortcomings.
Room was tiny and not as presented on website, bed too low, toilet/shower room cleanliness not good. Hallways very dark and narrow, using the stairs represented a hazard as difficult to distinguish lowest step from landing.

Unique atmosphere, nice location. Good breakfast.
I know there is an historical reason for this, but I would have liked to have a wardrobe in the room
