The absolute best panoramic view to be seen in Switzerland
This is a very grand, and very old hotel. Some of it was modern (pool/gym area, terraces, elevators), and much was dated and in need of serious refurbishment. The beds were good. Breakfast was very plentiful if you were early, if not, too bad. Parking was easy and plentiful. If you hit a sunny day, you are rewarded with one of Earth's most beautiful panoramic views. So get an alp-facing room, with a balcony. The pool and gym, hammam and sauna were very well maintained. The restaurant and dining were in a beautiful room and the quality of the food/kitchen was pretty high.
Our bedroom was dated and in need of repair. There was damaged wallpaper which had been kept in place with a very poor tape job. The mini fridge was out of order, explained by a very old "sign". There were some icky bathtub grout issues. Though the bathroom was clean, certain aspects were just old and stained. Most inconvenient of all was that there was no electric kettle or coffee machine.

Mountain view was great. Breakfast very good, good choice of local food. Room comfortable. Bathroom needed modernising. Spa facilities very good. Pool very clean and steam room excellent. No drinks facilities in room but just ask at bar or kitchen for hot water to make your own.
Reception should let you know to ask for hot water for drinks making in room. Tennis court was in terrible state, so we could not play.

Booked a double room for a special occasion. Got a tatty, old tired dilapidated twin room. All the hefty price if €240! No air con. 1 little bottle of water with 2 glasses. Wallpaper held up by sellotape. Bath surround falling apart. Grout covered in black mould. The place needs to be closed down permanently or substantially redone with millions of francs. So disappointed.

Our Grand Old world rest stop
Love the old world chic, although it's in need of attention and lots of investment. This didn't stop this cool old hotel providing a magic and captivating stay.

Really classic hotel. It appears to have a lot of regular customers. Like walking into the late century. Fantastic view, great breakfast.
Not speaking french is really a disadvantage. Nobody even tried to help us understand the menu card, though we asked.

Historic Swiss hotel with modern facilities. Spacious room, balcony, comfortable bed, great restaurant, friendly staff. I enjoyed every moment being there.
