Code Samui Hotel

From the moment I arrived, every single member of staff made me feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always greeted me with a smile, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout my stay. A very special thank you goes to Ruby, the General Manager. We happened to share the same birthday, and she went above and beyond to make mine feel truly special. The team surprised me with a birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday during breakfast, which was such a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture. When I returned to my room later that day, I found another beautiful birthday surprise waiting for me. It’s little moments like these that make a stay unforgettable. Ruby also kindly arranged for me to spend a day at their beautiful sister property, CHI Beach Club. It was a fantastic experience and the perfect way to spend the day, with great food, a lovely atmosphere, and excellent service. The outstanding hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and the genuine care shown by the entire team made this one of the highlights of my trip to Thailand. Thank you to everyone at CODE Samui for making my birthday so memorable. I hope to return one day!

If I had to mention a couple of minor points, the room was a little smaller than I had expected from the photos, although it was still very comfortable. It also featured a fully equipped kitchen, but without any plates, glasses, or cutlery, which meant it wasn’t really usable during my stay. The only other thing future guests should be aware of is the location. The hotel sits on a very steep hill, so unless you’re happy renting a scooter or car, or using taxis, it’s worth factoring those transportation costs into your budget. There is a free shuttle provided that takes you down to the main road and beach though. Overall, these were only very minor observations and certainly didn’t take away from what was a fantastic experience.

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous views. Would recommend a moped or a car as the hotel is on a steep hill but there is also a hotel owned shuttle that will take you up and down the hill which is fantastic. Stunning infinity pool and immaculately clean throughout.

No negatives

The breakfast was varied by day with the option of eggs as a kitchen order (poached, fried, omelet, eggs Benedict) we only had the options of breakfast twice during our stay- we were only offered eggs from the kitchen on the first day, service was very ‘island’, which you come to expect from some places in Koh Samui, although not the norm. The view from the penthouse was exceptional. And they did a bed arrangement which was beautiful to celebrate our honeymoon

The number of steps up to the room was unexpected for the price paid… we were helped with our luggage and they appeared to have taken it through the service lift, which was necessary as otherwise we wouldn’t have got them up to the room. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have slept in for a long time, that combined with inadequate air conditioning (make sure you get two room keys so it can be on all day in preparation for your return to the room) The kitchen as dated, cupboard doors peeling etc, although when the bathroom sink tap broke they were quick to fix it. The plug sockets are poorly placed for using any kind of adapter and we had to use the bathroom plug for the duration of our stay, directly by the sink, as it was the only one that an adapter and then a charger could fit into without falling out. Check out was a nightmare, but I accept we should have let them know our onward travel plans sooner- as there was no one able to access the safe to return our security deposit prior to 6.30am or any support available after 10pm, which isn’t made clear.
