Hotel Park Villa

The hotel kindly upgraded us to a spacious suite with two separate rooms, making our stay exceptionally comfortable. The elegant antique furnishings and historic ambience made us feel as though we were staying in a charming old castle. Every member of the staff was genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast was outstanding, offering an impressive variety of fresh and delicious options. We especially appreciated the thoughtful consideration shown towards our daughter, with suitable breakfast choices prepared for her, which made our family feel truly valued.

One minor disappointment was the absence of air conditioning, which made it rather difficult to sleep comfortably during the warm weather. In addition, the wooden flooring creaked quite noticeably whenever we walked, which was particularly noticeable during the night.

We enjoy staying in old, historic, buildings. And though close to road and rail we were not bothered by any noise.

No air conditioning, but that is to be expected - we just happened to be there during an unusually warm heat wave.

It was absolutely beautiful. It is an old home converted into a hotel. There are lots of antiques as it was once owned by an antique collector. We stayed in a room with 4 adults and it worked well for a few nights stay. The room was very spacious and comfortable for us all. And the bathroom was beautiful and huge! We had a balcony which was perfect to sit in the morning sun. The staff were very lovely and helpful. The breakfast was great, lots of food and table service! We loved our stay.

It was a bit noisy at night because it overlooks the train line and we needed to have the door open to keep cool. And also unfortunately our toilet seat had been previously broken in half but instead of replacing it, it was only taped up with white tape.

Park Villa is in easy walking distance from Schaffhausen town centre and transport hub (rail / bus / boat. Rooms are clean and decorated in unusual style which complements the gothic style architecture of the building. Max and the team are extremely hospitable, whilst the food and drink options are also good and the shady garden very welcome in the peak of a heatwave.

The lack of air conditioning can be a drawback in extremely hot weather, though fans are provided and the appropriate windows can be shuttered to suit your preference.
