Nice quiet and quirky hotel

The hotel is small and full of character, a little quirky. All members of staff were really kind and helpful. Fantastic breakfast served directly at your table

The room where I stayed in needs some changes. There is a full body sized mirror in the bathroom, directly in front of the toilet - made me feel very uncomfortable. The street of the hotel is at the moment a construction site. Not particularly noisy, but it’s full of mud. I think that they should have somehow informed us about this.

Unique and timeless elegance!

If you like cookie cutter sterile bland hotels, don’t stay here. This is an extraordinary property with timeless elegance and stunning attention to detail. The orchids are as lovingly looked after as the guests! Every part of this hotel is unique and I loved every moment I had here!

I wish I stayed longer!

Not great. Just about acceptable for one night.

Bed was good. Ok for one night, would not have wanted to stay longer. Location close to town.

Room was small, run down and not as described - in the description the room I booked should have had a sofa, a mini bar and bathrobe - none of these were present. We didn’t desperately need those things, but for what we paid I feel it was overpriced for a very basic room. Bathroom you could barely get in it and needs a new shower head. We had to ask for more than one towel, although room was booked for two people. Towels were small and scratchy. Breakfast was very basic with no choice - you get given a bunch of stuff without asking or choosing (processed meat, cheese, sliced bread and smoked salmon - we didn’t want them, but they were put on our table without us asking). No cereal or muesli. General atmosphere was just very odd. We did not feel at all comfortable. They didn’t seem to know we had already paid via booking.com and tried to charge us again.

A team of excellent people who make you feel so very welcome

Breakfast was well presented and very good. Dinner at the hotel was excellent with great service. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. We certainly were welcomed by excellent staff who made sure we had all we needed. Plus meeting the owner who himself was such a polite, caring and friendly man. Well worth the stay. Thanks to all.

A really nice hotel

Room was quiet enough with windows closed. Superb bar area with great selection of drinks. Fantastic breakfast with delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Limited free parking. Friendly staff. Short walk to town centre.

Room lacked air conditioning, sleeping with windows open resulted in intrusive noise from nearby railway and church.

Too noisy for me to stay there.

Room size was good. Location was walking distance to Old town The owner and staff were very nice.

Trains ran frequently from 5:30am to 1:30am. It was just too noisy for me.

Beautiful hotel with great hosts

Amazing hosts and service, everyone was very friendly and helpful! The building itself is beautiful and interiors make you feel like you travelled back in time.

The hotel is right next to the train tracks, so it will be noisy at night. Earplugs highly recommended. Also there's no AC and summers in Switzerland are getting quite hot the last few years.

A charming hotel deep in the green hills, within reach to the city center

The hotel is surrounded by parks (its own park and another one near to the church). The atmosphere is charming, and the staff is welcoming and attentive. The breakfast was exceptional with fruit ripe to perfection. A perfect location: near to the town and train station, while being a bit far away. Warmly suggested to all couples passing by.

Everything was perfect, so this is merely as a note to foreigners. As this town is not within the main foreign touristic routes (and that's really a pity), most kitchens are open between 6 to 8 pm for dinner. This is something the tourist should consider if they want to experience the hotel restaurant, which atmosphere is quite charming.

The staff is very kind and welcoming. They even accepted to help me regarding a post i was expecting at the hotel. I loved the fact that the hotel was located very close to the train station so it was no problem to walk with a luggage at 5 am. it was clean and quite. Unfortunately i didn’t have the chance to try the breakfast as i had to leave very early both days.

it’s not that i didn’t like but i thought that for a price i paid i would have gotten a bigger room.

Affordable luxury in an old-fashioned hotel

Magnificent (huge) rooms and bathrooms, olde worlde building. Great breakfast served at the table. Excellent friendly staff throughout our stay. Appeared (upon arrival) to be a bit out-of-the-way, but in fact is only a short walk over the rail bridge to the main town of Schaffhausen.

Excellent hotel with fine views

Park Villa is an excellent hotel in a park, but very close to the centre of Schaffhausen and near the railway station. It also is very quiet. The first room they gave me didn't have a Rhine view, but when I asked for a room with more view, I could see the River Rhine from this second room. There is a railway track close to that room, but I could hardly hear it. Breakfast is not buffet style, but nevertheless very good.

Fab furnishings a quirky decor, brill breakfast, skip the evening meal

Breakfast was exceptional so much choice, smoked salmon, cold meats and cheeses, fruit, yogurt, jam, bread, eggs. The hotel was full of antiques and vintage and the room was huge with lovely furnishings and a welcoming bowl of fruit.

As said above the breakfast was fab but our evening meal less so, my advice would be spend your money in the town nearby, and no tea making facilities in the room.
