Holiday Inn Club Vacations The Royal Cancun All Inclusive

If you are looking for a relaxing, calm vacation this is the spot. Friendly staff. All the rooms have two bedrooms, when I thought I booked a one-bedroom, I was surprised when I saw I had two bedrooms.

Because this is a members’ hotel. And even though you booked an all-inclusive, it actually only covers about 90 percent of everything. There are items that you do have to pay a little extra for. For example if you want steak they have house steak which is free but if you want one rib-eye steak it will cost you approximately 30 dollars extra to get the rib-eye. Again most things are included; it’s just certain items that will require an extra fee. Also because of it being a members’ hotel every time you eat, anywhere in the property, you have to wait for a bill after that you have to sign, which becomes annoying. It’s not like you could just go into the hall grab a burger and keep walking, NO you have to give them your physical room key, give them your room number, order, eat it and then wait for a bill that you have to sign and if you want to tip you leave it on the bill which gets charge to the room when you leave the property. Again just annoying and I wish they found a better system because the property is a good place to stay for a relaxing calm vacation.

The hotel has a good enough set up. The pools are good and some of the extra activities are very good, for example the tennis courts.

The biggest annoyance was sitting at a desk for an hour after check in so the staff could try to convince us to attend a 90-minute presentation to sell us a timeshare. We have two young children who just want to play in the pool and enjoy the sun. Not sit there wanting to be convinced to sign up for the presentation and even less likely to want to actually sit through it. The all inclusive is limited in terms of the drinks available and there seemed to be discrepancies between bars on what was or wasn't covered. Having been on all inclusive vacations in Mexico before, this one didn't meet the high standards set by others in and around Cancun.
