We were upgraded without asking, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had amazing views and the bed was super comfy. We ate in Gilpin Spice and the food and service was excellent.

Stayed in the Spa Suite. Excellent facility. Very comfortable room with in house spa.
SPICE restaurant was really good!
The pond was not full/filled up so the black plastic tarp was showing all around the edges.
SOURCE restaurant was way below expectations. Food took way too long and we ended up skipping a course. The food at SPICE was way better.

This is a genuinely gem in the lake district. The grounds are very nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurants are even better than advertised :-). the staff is very helpful and accommodating, providing a very personal and homey experience.

Obnoxiously overpriced.
Due to power failure, no water in bathroom in the morning, no WiFi
