Perfect location everything was walking distance. Amazing history and the gardens were beautifully kept - plus onsite parking
No lift which we did know about but my wife has MS.

Lots of history which was well preserved and tasteful
Room was lovely but small and no drawers for clothes. Also no lift.
We ordered pot of tea for two in the lounge bar and when we got the bill at the end of the holiday we were charged ‘service charge’ for each purchase which seemed a bit excessive as it was served direct not in our room

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with lots of options. The hotel is right by the York Minster and The Shambles so we were able to walk everywhere during our stay. Dinner in the Bow Room was very elegant. The bar/lounge is a great place for a cocktail and mid day bite to eat. The views of the old city walls and garden are lovely. The building is historic and next to the Treasurer House first built in 1091. Our room was very large and comfortable. The staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive.
