B&B - FORESTERIA - Frontelago Lake Como

We had such a beautiful stay here. The room was lovely with great views of the lake. The true delight of the stay has to be morning chats and breakfast with Adele! Both she and her daughter are so friendly, chatty and really love to help you plan your time at Lake Como. Although there is a train station 5 minutes walk away, a car is ideal for exploring little beaches and lidos. The best pizza was at Rosalba in nearby Mandello. Grazie Mille!!

The location is great, is not just that is in front of the lake, is that is close to the beach, restaurants and Varenna is just 15 min away by car. The owners are great and very very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The views from the room were great and the bed comfortable.

The ac could be better, but at night there is a breeze that cools the room.

Everything! Adele was an amazing host and took such a good care of us during our 4 day stay. The rooms are quite big an comfortable. I recommend booking the room with balcony and lake view. The view was amazing! Adele helped us with restaurants, taxis, everything. If something didn’t work out, she made it work out anyway and was always available for us. Breakfast was so so good, with a different selection each morning (local cheese and meat, salad, tomatoes, bread, cake, juice coffee etc) There is a little garden as well where you can relax. It was quiet in the B&B and we slept very well, air conditioning was helpful during the warm days of heatwave. The location is amazing, just across the strees from the lake and a small beach with a beach bar and rentable beach chairs. There is a small gelateria 2 min away which serves the most delicious ice cream portions, please try their daily specials! The water in the lake is clear and refreshing. I recommend booking beach chairs in advance on weekends, but on weekdays you can just walk in and rent one. If you travel without a car like we did, it’s fine but you need to plan a bit in advance. For example book the local taxi in advance for your desired date and time, especially on weekends when they get busy. The taxi service is very friendly and helpful, they also recommended some great restaurants in nearby villages. Trains run approx once an hour each direction and you can easily travel to other villages like Mandello, Lecco. The tickets are very cheap and there is an app. We loved our stay in this tiny italian village and will be back.
