I had never tried staying in a dorm before, but because of the great reviews, I decided to book a 12-day stay at Lazy Dog's dormitory. As soon as I arrived, I immediately understood why so many VAs recommend this place for a remote work setup. The property is located near the famous Leaning Coconut Tree landmark at Bulabog Beach, just a short 50-step walk away. I visited during the off-season in August, when it rained on most days. The dorm room had four bunk beds, and during my first week, I only had two roommates who stayed for a few days, making it a very quiet and comfortable environment for work and rest. On my seventh day, the water connection in the dorm building was damaged. However, the staff generously offered to transfer me to one of their private rooms, which I greatly appreciated. Their excellent customer service made what could have been an inconvenience completely stress-free. As a remote worker, internet reliability is always important. The connection was generally stable enough for everyday work, video calls, and browsing. However, if your job involves transferring large files or other data-heavy tasks, you may find the speed a bit limiting, as it averaged below 40 Mbps during my stay. Hopefully, they'll be able to upgrade to a faster connection in the future. One tip for fellow VAs working night shifts: don't forget to bring or buy some OFF! mosquito repellent. Mosquitoes can be quite persistent in the evenings and may become an unwelcome distraction during graveyard shifts, especially if you're working in the common areas. If you're working inside your room, though, this is much less of an issue. Breakfast is included with the stay, and it was amazing! In fact, it's one of the property's best assets. The food was consistently delicious and a great way to start each day. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Lazy Dog. Between the peaceful atmosphere, remote-work-friendly environment, accommodating staff, and fantastic breakfast, it's an easy place to recommend. I would definitely love to come back soon! ✨
