Penzion U Chodskeho Hradu

Wir nutzen die Pension schon über lange Jahre. Sie hat eine gute Lage mit hellen freundlichen und induvidiellen Zimmern (Baubestand). Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist wohlschmeckend und frisch. Weiter so!

Da wir im Urlaub da waren, wäre es schön, die Frühstückzeiten endlich mal um 1 Stunde auf 10.00 Uhr zu verlängern. Vielen herzlichen Dank! Einen Punkt möchte noch ansprechen. Wie überall in der Wirtschaft sind die Preise stark gestiegen. Auch hier in der Pension hat sich der Preis für die Übernachtung in den letzten 5 Jahren verdoppelt!

A very good pension right in the main square close to everything to see in Domazlice and not too far, to a walkable distance from both train stations of the city. Staff was nice (especially the breakfast staff), actually you don't see much of the staff during your stay, at check in you get a key, and at check out you need to drop it off at the requested post box. The building is very nicely renovated, my room was clean, it had a fridge and a microwave and a kettle with some plates and glasses. The breakfast is excellent, especially for a pension, the selection is not very extensive, however everything is nicely presented, fresh and tasty, there are some hot items (scrambled eggs, sausages, hot sandwich, and there are some cold cuts, cheeses and fruits/vegetables. Best part is the section of very fresh bakery products (a bakery car brings them every day), with delicious czech sweets included. And the huge selection of small chocolates to finish your breakfast looks amazing, Through the Alfred app I had the option to pre-order and pre-pay some beer and the famous sweet of the region the Chodsy kolác and these items were waiting for me in the room. The kolác was amazingly tasty, well worth the money. I recommend to taste it! Overall, an excellent place if you are not staying here in the middle of a heatwave

If I stay here in spring or autumn during a weekday, I surely give 10 points to this pension, however in summer, in the middle of a heat wave the room was quite hot and the air felt very stuffed, opening the windows did not help much and due to the historical building my room had no air conditioning facilities, I did not have good sleep at night, and during the day it felt better to stay in the shadows outside. Also, on saturday evening there were party people nearby in the main square, so sleeping was only possible with closed windows. The next two nights everything was quiet, so this seems to be a problem only at weekend nights.

Good price for value, in city centre. Bicycle shed in closed courtyard.

Room not very cozy and quite old. Heating hours controlled externally and no thermostat: room cold when arrived, too hot in the evening. Breakfast mostly sweets.
