What wonderful hosts Cleo and Leigh were. Nothing was too much trouble. They asked what we would like for breakfast and delivered exceptional food.
Small bottles of beer and wine were provided in the room for a small charge.
They discovered that we were staying at Bay Tree House during our wedding anniversary, the next day we found a gift left in our bedroom with a delightful card.
Anyone looking to stay in Southport should look no further than the Bay Tree.

A beautiful guest house on a quiet little side street, yards away from the Marine Lake. The pier head is about a 5-10 minutes walk south from there. With the Funland fair ground just a little further south on the main coastal road. Lord Street, the main shopping and amenities area is about a 5-10 minute walk up the main road inland. With Southport railway station being a 15-20 minute walk from the guest house. Merseyrail run a frequent service to Liverpool. So you are very central for most things. Cleo and Leigh are the very models of how guest house proprietors should be. We were greeted with a very warm and friendly welcome. They really did give our short break a massive boost. Well within thevfirstv24 hours of our stay, we felt like we were staying with close friends that we hadn't seen for a while, rather than proprietors. They are a wonderful couple. Polite, professional, accomodating, and so very friendly. Do be aware, though. Like myself, Leigh has a flare for dad jokes. We were constantly battling for top spot in telling the worst gags. At one time, the four of us were vying for the lead. So if you don't like dad jokes too much, it might not be the ideal place for you. The guest house is wonderful. Very clean, homely, modern, yet traditional. Stunning taste in decor. Our foom was very comfortable and cosy. Well equipped with sockets. The only negative I could point out is the fact that by the physical geography of the building, it's not disable friendly. The breakfast is amazing. There's the usual buffet style cereal, fruit, yoghurt, or fruit juice. Then, a variety of cooked breakfasts to choose from. My wife and I had a fabulous stay, and we will be visiting again soon, I hope.
Unfortunately, again, due to the traditional design of the building, there is only enough room for two modest sized cars on the car park.

Loved everything, the very warm welcome from Cleo and Leigh, lovely rooms with fridge, fresh milk, chocolate biscuits, and a fan. Fabulous breakfast, perfect eggs, fresh fruit and extra choices, too. Exceptionally clean. Great location, quiet and just a short walk to the centre.
