The dinner we had was fantastic, we had one wagyu and one standard. The staff were very nice, the onsen was good.
It was quite a long may out of the town centre. We had a car though. There was a minibus so able they ran a shuttle service

Our first Ryokan experience. Lovely bright spacious room and the feeling of being in a large private house. Staff were so helpful and friendly.
The property is outside town so you need a taxi at night if you eat in town. But property provides a pickup service from the station and a shuttle bus service at various times of day.

Free parking...
This is an old tired Ryokan. Everything is charged extra. We booked for the premium Hida beef filet dinner (¥8,800) and it was very disappointing. Unfortunately seems like there was a downgrade substitution as it was tough and chewy not what we were expecting. Half board ended up costing more than the room. The owner seemed like he was aware and avoided us while interacting with other guests.
