my favourite cheap hotel.

its close to the place I was visiting, also to shops and eating places. not to long a walk to the train station and other tourist parts of Liverpool.

they seem to test the smoke alarm without warning us. i would have preferred if the bathroom was in the same room as were slept, i kepted worrying i forget my door card when i peed at night.

Clean, comfortable and great decorations around the hostel. Option to park the car for the day for £4 once you check out and great value cooked buffet breakfast

High standard hostel

The hostel was of a very high standard. The dormitory was clean and spacious as was the shower area. The staff were very friendly, the kitchen area was large and clean and there was more than adequate communal space. The property was in a very good location opposite the Arena near Albert Docks. Perfect for a short stay in vibrant Liverpool. Finally, the whole property was extremely secure from unwanted intruders, both inside and outside the building.

There was nothing to criticise or complain about.

Respectful helpful staff.

I liked the location, I liked the security in general, but the secure locked parking facilities were reassuring. The breakfast was about £9.95 and the staff made it clear that you could go back up as many times as you like for no extra cost. The bedding provided was comfortable, clean, and warm. The staff were really helpful.

I wasn't keen on there being no free towel available.

Dont stay if you are disabled

Very light clean place close to docks , good size clean kitchen, free water points communal areas warm

As a diasbled woman was shown to dorm on ground floor, heater didnt work...man told me how to self fix which i did still went off after 1 hour. 4 beds in the room. I occupied one. Requested to stay 1 more night but was advised i needed to go to an upstairs room, no lift or offer of help:-( i have fybromyalgia amonst other ill health issues... there are signs for people in wheelchairs so it appears unless you carry a stick or in a chair you are not considered diasbled...i left in tears after advising 1 staff member how upset i was

Very disappointing experience, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Honestly, nothing special. I don’t recommend anyone to stay at this hostel, it’s not comfortable and not worth the price. There are much better and cheaper options available in Liverpool.

The rooms were not clean, the beds were uncomfortable, and the overall atmosphere was unpleasant. The staff were not very helpful, and the facilities didn’t match what was advertised. It felt overpriced for the quality and service provided.

Great place to stay! Cosy, welcoming and practical.

Easy to find and a great location to access the docks and the city centre. Very pleasant room, really clean and a cosy atmosphere. Felt very welcomed. The lounge and dining room was great. The building was very nicely decorated and the room / facilities were superb.

We had an awful mattress on our double bed: but the manager has apologised and promised to sort it.

Good location but sadly noisy phoneusing dorm sharers.

Reception was card for doors and pointing to the stairs. In the room were two people already in bed at 5 pm. I assumed they might be working in Liverpool . Later on returning to sleep the person below me who had been in bed all day I assumed was on his phone until 1 am. I asked him to stop but he just grunted. Then two people came in with phones illuminated and noisily prepared for bed talking normally. I think I finally got to sustained sleep around 3 am. I’m 77 and used to hostel accommodation but "…….

Wonderful hostel - I've been in many and it's in the first rank.

Unbeatable location, super friendly staff and comfortable beds. The common rooms were very cozy and the self catering kitchen a wonderful feature. The lockers in the rooms were roomy and easily accessible.

A single toilet and shower for a six person dorm was wholly insufficient. I was not given any other options on the same floor either, nor did I see any. ~60 minute wait for a bathroom in the morning (bathrooms and showers themselves were clean and up to date). Also, and this is me being needlessly picky: the flooring in the stairwells was threadbare and in need of replacement.

Nice and modern

Loved the room, good facilities. Wardrobes, shelf spaces ect. Really loved the individual night lights with phone shelf/charge point! Hand soap available which is always good!

I'm just being extremely picky, but we all found the floor in our shared room was really dirty. Our socks/bare feet were black with dirt from it!

Would recommend for a couple of nights!

I was only staying for one night and arrived quite late at night and left early morning, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and helped me out with parking. The bunk bed was comfy enough and the place was clean.

My only thing was that the toilet/shower room didn’t smell too pleasant. The shower is small which is fine but there’s almost zero water pressure so that was annoying to try to use. Other than that I would stay again as it was cheap! :)

Good bed, literally 1 min away from the night bus to the airport, close to the docks.

It was quite hot, because like in all YHA you can only open the windows a little bit. No towel, would be nice if it was included.

Great location near many of Liverpool’s attractions. The hostel is bright, cheerful, clean and well run.

It’s near a busy major road which is slightly off-putting initially BUT there really was not much road noise filtering up to the bedrooms or into the building generally.

Fantastic family hostel

The room was spacious and quiet. The staff were really helpful and the children loved the whole place. We were able to enjoy sitting at the picnic tables outside.

It would be better if there was a lift. We were able to leave the buggy downstairs, though.

It was one of the great stay vacation in YHA and the staff in the front-desk was good and helpful.

The location was great, very close to the docks, a shop and a 15 minute walk to the centre. Very clean and the staff were nice and helpful. Lovely common area.

The plug beside my bed didn’t work. Both USB ports were broken and my plug wouldn’t go into the socket despite it being the correct one. It was late when I returned to my room and I was plugging my phone in before I went to bed. So I was unable to change rooms or beds. I had to use my power bank to charge my phone so I could set my alarm for morning. The next night I stayed again but in a different room and this was not an issue. Some very small recommendations. (Just little suggestions) 1) the water in the water bottle refill station was lukewarm. It would be nice to have cold water. Particularly as it was very hot weather when I stayed. 2) teabags/ coffee would be nice in the kitchen.

Great value for money

Compy bed! Female dorm, i loved that! I loved the self catering facility very much too, fab kitchen, you can even cook your own food :) the breakfast room and common lounge are really good, compy and super friendly staff.

The shower rooms are tiny, nowhere to put your towel, stuff etc. not enough railings, no shelves. And the shower leaked onto the floor, and there was a puddle. No towels to clean up the water, so I dried it up with toilet paper, because you don't want to leave behind a messy shower for the next person. That's when I realised the floor wasn't that clean. It was definitely not mopped that morning, as I showered in the afternoon after my arrival, after a long journey.
