Golden Rose Hotel

Always happy to go to the Golden Rose. It doesn't pretend to be luxury. What it is, is clean, safe, functional. It's run by a family who are friendly and accommodating. No kettle in the room?? Ask at the reception and they will provide. The same with plates cutlery, loo roll, towels. The WiFi is free and easy to connect to. Location is fantastic, literally staggering distance to El Sakia beach (renamed Mamamia, entry price doubled!!) The Marina, Sheraton Road, Al Mina mosque. You can ask for a specific room when you get there if it's available. Beautiful sea views from side rooms. And you get a balcony n aircon. As an often solo female traveller I feel 100% safe there. Been there with family too. There are plenty of shops n restaurants very close by. Gomla supermarket and a safe ATM are 5mins walk away. Little shop on the right, halfway, before Sheraton road seems to be open very early/late, and does water and snacks very cheap. The extra tiny price you pay for breakfast, to me, is worth it. They will serve you breakfast from early til about midday too. Ideal for late risers!! And they do THE BEST kofte I've ever had anywhere!! And believe me I'm fussy with meat especially.

Tvs in rooms generally don't work, but then I don't go to hurghada to sit in n watch TV. The shower mats are really uncomfortable. No sockets outside in seating area. The balcony rails could do with some attention, but they do their job. No self catering facilities. This is is all the negative I can think of, n it's barely relevant!!! 😄😄😄

Didn't bother with breakfast but looked good. Location brilliant, 50 yds to beach, 50 yds to supermarket, right behind Sheraton Road, right next to Marina

For the money its is an excellent base, not super modern, just basic, no frills, have stayed here before

Location was good, shower had hot water and WiFi worked well.

Dirty and old, not maintained properly.
