Perfect place to stay!

I had a really nice stay here! The room was spacious and spotless, and it was quiet at night since my window faced the garden. Even though the breakfast setup is just a temporary arrangement, I actually loved having it at the nearby café. The food was great, and they make a perfect black coffee! There’s a bus and a tram stop right in front of the hotel, and it only takes 20 min to get to the city centre.

Comfortable Stay in a Convenient Location

The location of the hotel was very convenient just a 5-minute walk from the World Forum, where my conference took place. It’s also within walking distance of the fishing port, which has plenty of small restaurants, as well as the beach. The hotel is situated right opposite the tram station and close to shops and restaurants, yet the area is very quiet. My room overlooked the back garden (patio) and was exceptionally peaceful. The walls are thick, so you can’t hear your neighbours, and the ceilings are very high. The room was spotless, warm, and had a splendid bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast, served in the café next door, was delightful both the food and the atmosphere. The owner of the hotel is a charming and very helpful gentleman. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to relax and slow down.

Cozy stay at Excelsior.

Such a cozy and splendid little homey hotel. The host is amazing. Hw is so kind and caring. I felt like at home. Room is cozy small but well planned through. Bathroom is comfy and spotless every day. Place is great as it has tram and bus stop right outside the door, little cute and tasty bakery just downstairs around the corner and little shops at your liking. Beach is a walking distance.

Short trip to The Hague (World Forum)

Amazing that places like that still exists: a privately owned and operated hotel! You noticed how you are greeted, been taken care of and talked to! What a wonderful experience. The hotel and the rooms don't boost with modern equipment and shiny details but charm and a bit of history! Distance to the World Forum was good, to public transport even better, a very nice neighborhood and excellent breakfast (even though in the cafe next door, usually in the house). I gladly come back another time!

Not much really! The wooden floor aches a bit when walking over, size of the room and facilities are very efficient and pragmatic. Nothing to complain about when you mostly use it for sleeping. For a touristic trip, I would choose a hotel closer to the city.

Very hospitable

Amazing service and hospitality. I have arrived a bit earlier than the check-in time and my room was ready so I was kindly given the keys. The room was spotless. I had fresh strawberries for breakfast (amongst others), it had a great variety of foods, it was more than enough. I will stay here again when travelling to the Hague.

It was a small hotel in a quiet area. Easy access to the conference centre World Forum, and tram/bus into city centre. Breakfast was included and was excellent. The proprietor was very helpful and pleasant. The room was spotless and comfortable, with attractive decor.

There were no tea making facilities in the room. The staircase was a bit steep and would be difficult for someone with mobility issues.

We spent one night on a business trip in Hotel Excelsior. The rooms were adequately furnished, comfortable and clean, and although there was a technical problem in one of the rooms, the staff took care of it and provided an alternative location to our complete satisfaction. The breakfast was one of the better ones I had in a hotel - fresh food, service at the table... We did not do any touristic activities, but for those who want to - the beach is close by, as is a bus stop directly to the center of the city. All in all, a great experience!

Nice hotel, close to the beach but time to install airco

Nice, spacious room. Decent beds 10 min bike ride from Scheveningen beach Bakery right next door with several lunch options Lovely breakfast with fresh strawberries, fresh orange juice, several types of bread, croissant, charcuterie, choco, ham, cheese,..yoghurt. Very tasty

No airconditioning, WE WERE NOT INFORMED ABOUT THE FACT THERE WERE ROADWORKS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL WE GOT WAKEN UP AT 6H30 BY THE PREPARATION NOISE AND AT 7H00 THEY STARTED SCRAPING CONCRETE AND THE NOISE WAS HORRIBLE. OUR ROOM EVEN TREMBLED. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOW THIS BEFOREHAND I WOULD NOT HAVE BOOKED THIS HOTEL AND I DONT APPRECIATE IT AT ALL WE WERENT TOLD THIS BEFOREHAND

Our host was extremely helpful and friendly. He went above and beyond to resolve our queries, and kindly let us check in early (the room was ready) and let us leave our bags while we carried on exploring after checking out.

Although being there for a family sad occasion was made to feel welcome and relaxed.

Breakfast was ample and varied. Rooms were better than expected and staff were very friendly. We chose a rear room to be away from the main road. But nights were quite and other members of our party had Rooms on the front and had no complaints and the hotel was very clean.

Being very picky the bath towels were smaller than we are use to. But that is being very picky. They were adequate to dry yourself.

Excellent location and good and polite welcome and service. The breakfast was great: fresh, varied and huge. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean and the beds were excellent.

Everything was fine. The only inconvenient for us was that the hotel had no parking, but we already knew it. Luckily it was not difficult to find a parking space right in front of the hotel.

Location is excellent. Room was excellent. Breakfast also very good, but more time flexibility would have been appreciated. (it started at 9:00, many people need to leave earlier) The person at the reception was extremely nice.

The room was very neat, bathroom really clean. Everything in the hotel seems to be very well maintained, especially compared to other/larger hotel chains. The hotel manager did everything needed to make our stay comfortable, very service oriented. On top of that: breakfast was really good and more than enough.

Due to the creaky wooden floors and trams passing by it was a bit noisy in the room.

This was probably me best stay in Holland so far. Very good location (15 min. walk to the beach & 15 min. by tram/ bus to the city center), beautiful room (very clean, comfortable bed) , incredible breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Clean room. Good and abundant breakfast. Kind and polite service. Located in one of the best districts of The Hague/Scheveningen, close to restaurants, bars and shops, with a family atmosphere.

There is no lift, therefore not good for people with disabilities or other problems.

Nettes älteres kleines Hotel mit einem tollen Service

Sehr netter und freundlicher Inhaber. Wir wurden sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen. Die Zimmer schon älter aber sehr sauber und mit Liebe eingerichtet! Das Frühstück mussten wir aufgrund von Krankheit des Chefs in der Bäckerei stattfinden was aber auch sehr lecker war! An dieser Stelle wünschen wir dem Inhaber von ganzem Herzen gute Besserung und das er bald wieder fit ist um mit seinen Gästen frühstücken zu können! Er ist ein Hotelier mit sehr großer Leidenschaft! Wir sehen uns garantiert wieder!!😊😊😊

Die Parkgebühren, wobei der Eigentümer darauf keinen Einfluss hat da es der Stadt gehört. Mehr deutsche TV Sender wären schön! Waren leider nur 4 Programme
