Super happy with our choice to stay at The Pilgrm Hotel. It was a great location, just steps away from the train station and a short walk to Hyde Park.
The hotel had a really great vibe with unique decor and a decent cafe attached.
The only thing to note is that if you are a light sleeper there is a lot of street noise that is very audible from the room.

We love this location and I’ve stayed a few times. The cafe and lounge offers a great vibe but rooms are small with no wardrobe space and poor ventilation in summertime. Winter is much better as the stuffiness of the rooms are borderline in summer with no aircon and you can’t open windows

Terrible stay – avoid this place at all costs
This was one of the most uncomfortable and poorly thought-out accommodations I’ve ever experienced.
First, the location on the 1st floor right next to the street was a nightmare. Drunk people noise noise was constant and extremely loud throughout the entire night — even with the window closed. We barely got any sleep, waking up every time a vehicle passed by. Earplugs didn’t help much.
The room itself was ridiculously small — more like a converted closet than a proper hotel room. The shower cubicle was so tiny that I couldn’t even turn around without hitting the walls or the glass door. It felt claustrophobic and borderline unusable.
Safety issues were everywhere. The heater was positioned dangerously close to the bed — literally inches away from the mattress and bedding. This felt like a serious fire hazard, especially overnight. We were afraid to leave it on while sleeping.
Even worse, the sink was placed
next to the bed, practically at bedside level. The towel hanger easily fell off. The whole setup was bizarre and off-putting.
Despite having a heater, the room still felt cold at night — probably because of poor insulation and the constant street-level drafts.
Other basic amenities were shockingly lacking:
• We booked for two people, but were given only one cup/glass — nothing for the second guest.
• There was no kettle/boiler in the room at all.
• The only facilities for hot water, tea, and coffee were located upstairs in the lounge area, but the stairs were extremely steep, narrow, and cramped — very difficult (and unsafe) to navigate multiple times a day, especially with luggage or at night.
On top of everything, the lounge staff was rude and unhelpful when we asked basic questions, and the elevator was broken the entire stay, forcing everyone to use those awful stairs.
In summary: noisy, tiny, unsafe, unhygienic, poorly equipped, and staffed by people who clearly don’t care. This is not a hotel worth any traveler’s money. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere — there are much better options even in the budget category. One night was more than enough; we left as soon as possible.
Would not stay again. 3/10.

Lift barely fits one person and a suitcase -
Window doesn’t open but had a crack so draft and rain blew into the room all night
Didn’t clean room -left dirty glasses in room didn’t make bed
Crack in window sill wood rotting and painted over
Duvet as thin as a sheet in winter
No blankets
Staff rude and arrogant can’t speak English properly
Paid for breakfast but denied it was in the booking
Only one manager on duty at 10:30 in the morning - made me wait over 15 minutes said could come talk to me to resolve problem - which they refused to do - when I expressed issue about paying for full breakfast- and simply denied this even though I had the booking email - rude arrogant stood over me and talked at me no manners no customer service - and said couldn’t talk as only one on duty
Carpets dirty and stained - I eventually just left - you end up realising you are talking to someone who is arrogant there is no point trying to resolve things politely - overpriced - only benefit is five minutes walk to Paddington but a complete waste of money - was probably trendy on the surface - but furniture online is now stained faded and literally no stuffing left in the couches - waste of money and nothing of substance to be found here !
