Great location, stylish hotel, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast
Beware street facing rooms- while the tram no longer runs, the 3am drunks are still doing their thing.

Location is superb
The common rooms are very nice displayed !
Breakfast room not cosy, a little cool decorated….
Breakfast choice quite simple not in line with the price (300 euro) for a room with BF.

The location was great, walking distance to good restaurants and major sights. Room was large by European standards with a large bathroom.

It is beautiful, serene and charming. The rooftop patio with a spectacular view of the Cathedral is a stunner. The staff were lovely and accommodating.
It was all great.

Beautiful boutique hotel, extraordinary interior design, cozy room, beautiful bar - great view also from the rooftop. Spa was amazing too. Location was right in the middle of the shopping area - amazing shops small and big! Every staff member was very friendly. 😍
Didnt realize spa was exclusive (1hr 85 euro) when booking but I would do it again

I’m honestly a bit speechless about my beautiful stay at Hotel Julien. After 10 days of work in Scotland, my five days in Antwerp were a much-needed break. I’d injured my knee a few weeks earlier, and the hotel staff went out of their way to move me to a room near the elevator—which wasn’t easy.
They even offered to help me find a doctor, and by some miracle, got me an appointment next door at 11 a.m. that same morning. It was incredibly helpful. The staff truly seemed to care and take pride in their work—real customer service, which feels increasingly rare, especially coming from the U.S.
The hotel itself is a hidden architectural gem. From my room, I had a stunning view of the cathedral, beautifully lit up at night. The location is perfect for walking or hopping on the tram, and I always felt safe.
Another hidden treasure at the Julien is their serene hammam and an incredible massage therapist—both made my stay feel like a retreat.
It was hard to leave what had become a sanctuary for me. I’m deeply grateful to everyone at Hotel Julien for such a memorable and healing stay. I hope to return someday!
My first room was small, plain, and up a long flight of stairs, so the upgrade was a huge gift. Breakfast was delicious but light—though you can order more à la carte. The only downside was getting there from the train; finding the bus depot and a taxi wasn’t easy. I wish the arrival process were simpler.

Charming hotel in the center of Antwerp and within walking distance of the Meir.
What disappointed me was, on the one hand, the quality of the bed, which I found truly substandard, and on the other hand, the soundproofing in the hotel. Despite the limited number of rooms, you can hear almost everything happening in the hallway. That doesn’t create a comfortable feeling and comes across as quite disturbing.
The price-quality ratio was also disappointing. A hotel charging +€500 per night should offer more. For example, the pillows were too small, there were hardly any complimentary toiletries, the bathtub was personally too small, and the towels were a bit too rough (like sandpaper). The ventilation grilles could also use a cleaning some were covered in dust.
From a 4-star hotel in the heart of Antwerp, I honestly expected a bit more.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Hotel Julien left me no choice.
I had my luggage stored at the front desk after checkout. When I returned later that afternoon, I discovered that €80 in cash had been stolen from my wallet inside the bag.
I immediately reported the incident to the staff. One of them assured me that CCTV footage would be sent to me within 24 hours. However, the footage was never provided. I followed up multiple times by phone ,but most calls were ignored or abruptly cut off.
After four days and a formal complaint to Booking.com, the hotel replied that they “could not send it” offering no explanation or apology. They never took responsibility.
If the hotel was truly unable to provide CCTV footage, then their initial promise to send it to me within 24 hours was clearly intentionally misleading. They gave me false hope, knowing they couldn’t or wouldn’t follow through — a tactic to stall for time and deflect accountability.
This alone reveals how little genuine intention they had to resolve the issue from the start.
As a solo traveler, this experience left me feeling violated, anxious, and completely unsupported. It’s not just about the theft — it’s the false promises, silence, and refusal to help that made this situation much worse.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. If you value safety, honesty, and accountability — look elsewhere

It is small and very friendly. The decoration sober and elegant. The rooms vast. Walking distance to all main attractions.
Maybe an easier system for the lights in the room.

The Art, the high ceilings, the light. The different spaces, the smell, it smelt like a sauna throughout. The roof top was also special

Lovely hotel. Need to sort the lighting in the room. Also unnecessary towel changes when towels hung up for reuse. But well fitted out and breakfast was very nicely done.

Location was super close and just off the main sidewalks, was nice and quiet, the hotel room was big, had all the essentials, the staff were a big highlight, shout out to Greg who recommended a few things to see such as the nottebohmzaal. Very good I'd stay again!
Everything was great!

Great location
Air conditions in the room wasn’t strong enough to cope with the heatwave
They had an amazing bar but none of the staff knew how to make any cocktails.

the position is very central and close to all amenities
the fact that the spa is not included in the price and on top of it you need to book and there was not space

the hotel was beautiful if dated. It looked like it enjoyed better days. I did enjoy the Aesop toiletries.
the attitude of the young man checking me in could have been improved my a long shot. I found him rude and condescending. There was a slight misunderstanding about usage of the spa (which is NOT included in the price of the hotel, gawd knows why) and rather than being pleasant and helpful, he decided to be condescending about the whole thing. Not what I expect from a hotel that paints itself in a higher caliber. The rest of the staff were lovely AND helpful.

Large comfortable room, great shower and bathroom. Loved design and decoration of the house.
Directions about parking. The parking garage was mentioned in the letter but not in a very clear way. We saw this direction only afterwards.
