Tällbergsgårdens Hotell

We had a very nice two night stay at Tällbergsgårdens Hotell. Our room/suite was lovely and had a wonderful view of the lake and a bath at the end of the bed. The bath was low so you couldn't see the view from it. There was a separate seating area and also an outdoor deck with table and chairs. It was a great view of the sunset. The breakfast were very nice although not as much food choice as we'd had elsewhere. No fish dishes available - mainly standard continental breakfast food - cheese, meats, pastries, fruit.

We didn't do well getting the attention of staff. When we checked in about 4pm there was no one at reception so we moved to wait a while at the bar area. Still no one. There were three members of staff beyond the bar chatting like they were in a meeting and they just looked up at us and looked away when we went towards them. We went back to the main entrance and still couldn't find anyone. In the end we had to disturb the people in the meeting and the main lady came and checked us in. It was all a little odd and we didn't feel welcomed so chose not to eat dinner there either night. It was similar when we checked out. Again staff doing things elsewhere but not attending to hotel guests.

Frukosten var utmärkt, fanns vad vi ville ha. Rummet var stort och rymligt med balkong och fin utsikt.

Wc/dusch var väl inte det bästa men ok.

The location is beautiful. The views over the lake Siljan are stunning.

There was poor communication about what was available and what wasn’t. In particular we had chosen the venue specifically for the a la carte menu, which we were then told was not available during the week. This was disappointing. The food was good, but pricey for a set meal. We are well versed with Swedish pricing. Sadly the wine list pushed the budget even further, with few affordable options. Again, we are very used to Swedish wine pricing, but felt this was excessive.
