An absolutely fantastic experience, great location with a bonus spa and swimming pool

We just wanted a hotel and spa but somewhere affordable so we could visit my daughter university and it was a fantastic that my son was 15 could stay for free. We really really appreciated this.

We felt that the sauna and swimming pool could’ve been a little bit more luxurious. It wasn’t as relaxing as it could’ve been because there were lots of kids in a small pool splashing around but we were really just so happy to be there that I just made a smile. Also the most important thing was that the experience was affordable for us and it was much better that we put up with some small inconveniences than we paid for a much higher price if we wanted the luxurious experience then we would’ve gone to our usual Saint David’s Hotel and spa. There is no way this is a complaint in any way at all because we had an absolutely beautiful weekend and felt very lucky and privileged to be with you. I’m only feeding this back to you because I’ve been asked to the staff were really wonderful except for one particular woman on the desk who couldn’t find the booking it was quite rude but the other gentleman that was with her smooth it all out beautifully!

Poor facilities

Breakfast good but swimming pool and gym closed. No prior warning. The whole reason I chose the hotel was for those facilities so very poor I'm afraid. No real apology from the staff or offer of any compensation.

I definitely will think about staying sometime soon as it was a really enjoyable stay.

It was a great place because of where it was, there were many places to go out to eat and to shop which I liked. The staff were very friendly as well as helpful and understanding, the breakfast was superb and plentiful too.

I couldn’t really think of things I disliked about the property but more so the area and the loudness of the night which is why I’m glad it was sound-proof.

Great location , easy check in , clean and spacious room

Very close to railway station. Room spacious , clean and temperature was very comfortable . We had just flown in from a hot climate so room temperature was important to us as it was very cold to us outside. Bed very comfortable. We w ere too tired to use the pool alas so can’t comment on that .

Only thing we would have liked some more milk and tea bags . It was a double room and we only had two tea bag’s and two coffees with 4 small milks . The coffee required two milks as it was strong . We were too tired to go down to reception for more as we had been travelling for 17 hours . Please be a bit more generous

Lovely venue, clean, great location

Great Location, clean, we had a family room so a separate WC to the bathroom was a pleasant surprise, although a small hand basin in there would have been good. Welcoming staff on arrival, late checkout even though we didn’t use this as we had an event to attend it was good to have if needed. Appreciated having lifts too

Unfortunately there’s lots of car restrictions around the area, for someone like me, new to Reading it was very confusing and we went to the front of the venue and sure to get a fine now. Unfortunately a housekeeper knocked then just walked in to our room at 10am, I was preparing for a shower and she asked me when I was checking out but I still had 2 hours left!

The maintenance need to be checked more there was lose plug sockets so phone don’t charge the shower/bath didn’t work properly the door battery’s needs to be looked at. Very poor maintenance in the room.

i loved our room expected small singles but as soon as we came in we were shocked from how big the beds were the tv was giant bathroom so well kept lovely room and great location not too far from the station

nothing to be unhappy about although two men did come into the hotel following us in getting into our lift but the male reception was quick to open up the elevator and kick them out great receptionist nothing bad to say would most likely return

Overall I don’t recommend anyone to stay in this hotel not worth the price at all .and the staff is horrible.

The bed was comfortable , location near the station

I booked the executive room , The bathrooms had bad smell and the water from shower and sink is yellow from the rust the coffee machine doesn’t work and the landline in the room does not work , the parking area is nonfunctional couldn’t get in because of the ring bell is not working took me more that 30 minute to go and out the resorption lady was rude and uncooperative about the parking issue .

Lovely relaxing stay.

The hotel room was so cosy and welcoming for the night I stayed. It was extremely quiet even with the window open. The room had nice warm lighting and lovely soft bedding and towels. Pool was lovely too. Had a lovely, quiet stay and staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay again!

Good hotel but with awful car parking

Very nice room with large comfortable bed. Slept well, Breakfast was fine although the black pudding left something to be desired. I asked for poached eggs but was told the chef could not do any as all the eggs were broken. I found this rather odd. the cereal, fruit and bread selections were first rate

No clock in the room. I was informed that the car park was at the rear of the hotel and booked a space on that information. No one informed me that to get to the car park I would have to drive half way around Reading through the one way system. I was told on reception that they could unload directions to my phone. I do not have one so had great difficulty getting to the car park. On arrival there was just one small space and as I have knee problems I found it very painful to squeeze out into a very confined space. On leaving it should be noted that the obvious direction is reserved for taxis which is easy to miss. If I return I will give the car park (at £29 a night) a miss

Solid hotel, great location

Location is excellent, short walk from train station and a short walk from the centre. Pool and sauna/steam room also great. Hotel was quiet, we were on floor 7 and couldn't hear anything from outside. Iron in the room, fridge in the room, great shower too, and a bath.

I( was actually put in a room where the toilet and shower were in the same room, not two separate areas. So much better than the separated toilet. As usual, very clean and comfortable.

The stay could have been a ten had it not been for the breakfast. You have such cheap sausages, and solid scrambled egg from which one had to take a slice not a spoonful. Premier Inn has a far better quality of breakfast yet I would expect Novotel to be a higher standard

Guest smoking weed/ skunk, through their window into mine. Sleep being disturbed. Experiencing a guest receive disability ASD discrimination. Misogynoir, racial discrimination, inhumane treatment, slurs from staff such as Daniel and "his dudes" Needing to change rooms twice as a result of unclean rooms, victimization. Acute damp and mould issues to the building which can be smelt upon entry and at breakfast. Suggest a defect survey, analysis, structural overview plus an RCA for #buildingsafety.

Nice rooms, let down by the fitness area.

Comfortable room, decent amount of space, appreciated the separate show and bath.

The swimming pool area needs work, specifically the changing rooms which are tired. The toilet in the ladies was out of order but I wasn’t warned of this on check in. There was no other option on that floor from what I can see. The changing area is very small and opens directly onto the open hallway and entrance to the male change room with no option to get privacy. So if you are mid getting changed and someone opens the door, there is no way to preserve your modesty. At breakfast, no decaf coffee option other than instant despite there being a second coffee feeder at the top of the machine. No decaf options in the bedrooms either. Decaf tea bags available downstairs, should be in all rooms.

I have stayed here before

I have stayed here before so knew about the odd room layout and accepted that. The hotel is in a good location so happy to put up with its quirkiness. It is comfortable and clean.

Don't know what air freshener they use but I did not like it, it was very heavy and not something I have noticed before The pole to hold up the shower head was broken which I did not discover until about to take a shower - not the time to call in maintenance but it did not look like it was a new fault. Yet again, one lift was out of order, and the breakfast bacon and sausages have not improved.
