The lobby is amazing with 17nth century panels and carvings.
Room looks into a shaft so it’s rather dark, but it’s also fairly cheap so I’m not complaining. I would definitely stay again. Receptionists are very helpful. If you want everything brand new, not for you. If you like history, the lobby is great.

Location was great, right in the town centre, love the old architecture, good selection for breakfast, lovely room, clean and quiet even on looking the street. Great view of the viaduct from the window too. Very helpful and friendly staff, Erwann made us feel quite welcome, we will be back again for sure. The Christmas market was in town, sadly we missed most of it as arrived later than expected.
Nothing to add here about the hotel, only downside is no hotel parking, but plenty of parking nearby

The hotel is located in the city center, you can reach everything by foot. It is a nice old style hotel, rooms are quite basic.
It is very difficult to find a spot where to park the car around there.

Great location in center of town, old world charm, excellent staff and breakfast, has secured inside bike storage.
Building is little dated by today's standard but did not affect my stay.

Breakfast was amazing with local specialities and a beautiful room to eat in. The old wooden panelling in the foyer was really interesting - a sense of history.

The staff and the history of the hotel. Being a history buff it was a pleasant surprise.

Loved the fact that it was so central to everything. The chap who checked us in was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and directions. The water was lovely and hot which after 2 weeks in a camper van was so so needed! The bed was very comfy. Overall a very good stay.
The hotel was a little tired looking in places, but that's it's charm I guess. We couldn't empty the bath but that was probably our stupidity. The pillows were very thin and just small squares, but I had my own so didnt spoil my comfort.

Old property could do with some decent refurbishment
Breakfast could be better

The location of the hotel is amazing! And it must have been wonderful in its heyday but it looks a bit tired now and the rooms are pretty basic. Did the job for a stopover before taking the ferry back to England.
The room was boiling hot so none of us had a good night's sleep! Our room was on the 3rd floor so under the roof and it was incredibly hot and impossible to cool down despite having all windows opened. Probably only an issue at the height of summer though.

Old charm. Stayed in the presidential suite. It didn't disappoint. Room is better in reality than in photos. Very comfortable bed, lots of space, modern shower room and plenty of hot water.
Nothing, I loved it!

very conveniently located, though there is not much restaurants open in this town for dinner. And parking may not be that close.
Rooms are tiny, unsuitable for 2, and there is only a central lightning system switching on and off the central bulb and the sole bedside table.

Very good location very much in centre of town. Parking-we got lucky and parked right outside. Very pleasant stay. Good second floor room with large bathroom.
Comfortable bed good tea making facilities.
Carpets in public areas look grubby.

Amazing old building, some beautiful bits. Helpful and friendly staff and a delicious breakfast in a very elegant old dining room. Conveniently located in town centre with a very spacious room.
Staircase and corridors were very dated - borderline shabby. Bathroom was a bit below expectations - shower head was ok for anyone under 5 foot but not over. Lift very cramped and old.

The location in the centre of the old town. Fun free billiard table. The staff were friendly and helped us to store our bikes safely.

Fantastic location and lovely big room, filled with light from huge windows.
People very nice too.
Bathroom was a little awkward with nowhere to hang towels and toilet up a big step.
Also it would be nice to have a real cup for the tea, not a paper one.

Nothing to be honest.
The hotel smelled old and musty, the carpets were badly stained. The bedside tables were cheap, rickety and unstable. The basin plug was disgusting. The pillows had no protectors and were badly stained. We had cardboard cups for tea and coffee which weren't replaced on the second day. The WiFi was a complete joke. The pendant shade was full of dead flies and the extractor fan in the bathroom was also filthy. Breakfast was all open with people coughing into their hands and then using all the utensils; we left without bothering to eat. This hotel is supposed to have been upgraded but all we could see was it had new room doors and cheapest possible sanitary fittings. It is basically a 1 star Hotel and that is being generous to say the least!

Room was very small.

Historic setting in the middle of town and yet not at all noisy. Pleasant stay.
Parking difficult. Ample public parking but super ample presence of tourists also so very difficult to find an available parking space.

Breakfast was lovely and the location is fabulous. The silence around the place. The trees are amazing.
There was nobody there to greet us when we arrived (I think it might have been a bank holiday but I'm not sure) so we had no personal point of contact. We just had our name on a piece of paper stuck up on the reception door with our room number on it!!!
Also, on the walk down around the property on a grassy path to get down to the lower bedrooms, there is a steel rod sticking out of the ground, which looks like a branch, until you fall over it like I did and cut legs and hands in the fall. This should be removed!
