The chap at the reception was very helpfull & courteous, offering to carry my case upstairs. The bedroom & ensuite were lovely and clean. Continental breakfast that was lovely &,fresh ground coffee was superb.

It was local to the event we were attending. We arrived a little late to eat but they offered to cook pizza for us, which after a long drive was a blessing. Breakfast Friday was a continental and filling .Saturday morning full English was delicious.

May seem a bit petty but there were a few cob webs in the room, and behind light fittings. But a quick whip around got rid of them. I have a serious fear of spiders.

It was a bit basic continental breakfast.

A pot of tea would be a better offering than a cup for breakfast , a choice of yogurts .

The hotel itself and the room especially was very nice. A good size and for our budget a pleasant surprise.

Breakfast - it was a continental breakfast included in the stay or extra for a full english. Continental was cereals, parma ham and cheese, or toast. That was it. Not much pf a choice. However, the main issue was that cheap bread and that when we made our toast and sat to eat it there was mould on the bread ! We didn't notice when making it as just chatting, but once sat down it was obvious and frankly disappointing. We did report it and a new loaf was supplied, but not the point. There were no napkins on the high tables that were in the breakfast area. We had to go sit in another part of the room at a normal lower table. All in all the breakfast provision needs addressing. Otherwise the staff were friendly (if a little too informal) , and the facilities were okay.

Room clean/nice, bed comfy. Bathroom shower was great, didn't look like it would be powerful, but was. Plughole in sink had a little dirt, easily came off. Shower cubicle door surround could do with reseal, as bit marked from soap. Apart from that a very lovely spacious room. Bar/Restaurant was good, staff very helpful and polite.

There wasn't anything we didn't dislike.

Friendly staff attached to the pub, located near friends and a great location for us. Lots of space. Great food in the evening - our son voted it the best spag bowl ever.

No WiFi in the room was an issue for us. Apparently rooms on a certain side of the building don’t get WiFi. Also the cooked breakfast isn’t available during the week - only cereal and toast.

Hotel was great, staff very helpful, hotel room was excellent. Would defo stay again.

Getting woken up at 5.50 by someone inflating their tyre with a noisy compressor! Cramped shower cubicle but adequate, grouting very tired.

Large, airy room with plenty of storage space & a very comfortable bed. Good shower, which was easy to operate. Nice to have the bar & dining options on site.

Stuck in the sittingroom with a small child sleeping in the bedroom a d the TV not working in the sitting room , should this not have been checked first ?

We are a well travelled couple who have owned and run our own Guest House and Wine Bar and have been to many places all around the world, this has to rank very low for what is classed as 4*. It is obvious once you have visited this establishment why it was not busy. The owner/managers have become either disinterested or complacent. The bed was a small double, too small for us and we are not big people. The shower cubicle was growing mildew behind the door, on the seals and the grout, leaving me with a very uncomfortable feeling that the rest of the bathroom and the bedroom were not clean. There was no bottled water and very basic tea/coffee facilities and for what would have cost £139.00 had I not been a genius booker, is shocking! The evening menu consisted predominantly of pizzas and burgers, not what we were looking for after a long drive from South Wales unfortunately, so we got a taxi to Whalley as suggested by staff, 1.9 miles, less than 5 minutes, cost £12.00 and £15.00 to return at 9.30pm. A lesson learned. With the promise of a cooked breakfast at an addition cost of £9.95, on arrival we were advised that they did not have a chef and suggested that we walk across the carpark to the cafe, however continental was available. Breakfast consisted of packet croissants and toast, the milk in the jug was off and curdled when I poured it in my coffee, so cereal was out. The option of walking to the cafe across the carpark for an additional cost was not acceptable when paying £105 for a 'Boutique' hotel. This is the only accommodation I did not feel warranted a photo! a real shame, this place has bags of potential.

Absolutely nothing!!!

Our rooms were disgusting!! Such a strong smell of bleach and where to start. A rusty towel heater, disgusting wooden areas open where the paint etc had come away, the taps move round unless you turn them on with both hands. The list is endless but the very worst thing was the bed - it felt hollow apart from the springs and I felt everyone of them as I moved. Just such poor quality and upkeep & way over priced!!!!
