Best Western Premier Doncaster Mount Pleasant Hotel

The room was marvellous, especially the jetted tub and the comfy seating area and lovely soft dressing gowns. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was fine, but the hash browns were soggy and the sausages quite dry.

The hotel itself is nice, it feels very classy. It was well-decorated around the Christmas period and it seems like they have lots of shows and spa treatments you can pay extra to attend. The hotel room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed.

We went for a special occasion and specifically booked a room with a sauna, for the sauna. We were told the sauna could not be turned on in advance so on our arrival we turned it on and it didn't work. It went up roughly 5 degrees every hour. The sauna needed to be 85 degrees and after trying the whole night it barely got to 50 degrees on the monitor, but also the sauna was a mildly warm room and could not be used as a sauna at 50 degrees, clearly broken. We were told it could not be fixed and we could not be changed rooms, and were offered £50 and a bottle of champagne. Although this was nice, the room for 1 night cost us around £300 and we went specifically for the sauna. We also had problems getting our refund and apparently there were issues through booking.com, and lastly a few weeks after attending I have begun to receive emails warning me that the hotel had a data breach. Honestly I would not stay here again, it was a nightmare and staying in a place like this is not something affordable for us, we went for a special occasion only. Not to mention I read reviews saying you can't hear the road from the rooms which is not true, it is right next to a main road and you can hear the cars all night, and I also read reviews that the breakfast is fantastic but it was mediocre at best, and they had no vegetarian sausages etc which I've had available at much cheaper hotels.

The location was near a relatively busy road, but property and bedrooms set back in nice landscaped gardens and rural views. The breakfast and dinner in the brasserie was really good with excellent service and superb choice without the menu being cluttered. We had the three coarse dinner my wife & I choosing completely different courses and all were really good and varied. The Executive bedroom was extremely spacious, with defined sitting area, comfortable and suitably period furniture with a quality TV viewable from the seating area and bed. The bathroom was large attractive, twin sinks, well designed with a separate bath and large walk-in shower. Quality tea & coffee bags and lovely biscuits.

It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room for the milk and any drinks stored in the room. Although this didn't detract from so many brilliant positives.

A hidden gem - beautiful property! Room was very large, spacious, comfortable, very clean and beautifully presented. I made a last minute booking just needing somewhere to stay overnight owing to work in the area the following morning, so was very pleasantly surprised to discover how beautiful the hotel was when I arrived and the unexpected very large, wonderful room. I arrived late in the evening and had to leave early in the morning but now I know it’s there I plan to return at some point for a leisurely stay to actually enjoy the hotel and grounds. I ordered room service in the evening which was very efficient and the food was great. I had breakfast in the morning in the restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful and food was lovely. Staff throughout the hotel were polite, friendly and welcoming.

There was nothing I didn’t like. I had a great stay and will visit again. It may be notable though that there was very poor to none, phone signal/connection in room and restaurant. Connected to the free WiFi but this was still very weak and even the TV in the room couldn’t connect so the Freeview/streaming channels offered weren’t available. Wasn’t a problem for me owing to it only being a quick stay, but could hinder people needing connection for work. Not sure if this is the regular or if it was just a specific issue during the time I was there. Won’t stop me visiting again, just may be worth knowing for some people depending on the purpose of their visit.
