This was my second stay at the hotel. I will definitelly be back.

The room was spacious and clean. A lot of space to put away my clothes. Room temperature perfect. Comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.

The sauna temperature was only 80 degC. The WIFI was fast, but the port 123 was blocked preventing accessing time servers.

The area around the hotel is absolutely beautiful and very quiet. There’s a cable car going up the mountain and an alpine slide coming down — my son even rode the slide in the morning! The hotel’s restaurant was a great surprise. We arrived at dinnertime and weren’t sure where to eat, so we just went in — and the food turned out to be excellent! Traditional Austrian dishes, very tasty lamb and beef, and the prices were very reasonable. very good value. best dinner we had during the 10 days trip. The interior of the hotel is also much nicer than it looks in the online photos. Overall, a great stay — peaceful, scenic, and very good value.

Excellent

Quiet, comfortabele place with kind staff, spacious room, good food both for breakfast and dinner. Nice view on the mountains from the room. Table to work. I was there when the winter season had ended, so I don’t know how busy it can be, but in March it was truly a place to relax.

Location was excellent... Staff was well mannered and helpful, despite most of them not knowing English, they still were trying to understand us and help. Neat and Clean... Nice Food..

Very poor

Very upseting experience. I travelled 8 hours to attend an event in Abtenau and when I arrived in the hotel at night to sleep, the card that they gave me to open to room didn't work. They have no reception at night and no emergency number to call! I tried for ONE HOUR to call some mobile number that I found and no answer. At this point I was so exhausted and extremely upset wondering if I had to sleep on the cold corridor floor to have some rest before travelling back home in the next morning. Finally, someone picked the phone and came to open my door. Next morning I didn't receive any apologies when I checked out.

Ideal, quiet place for a super vacation: hiking in summer or skiing in winter.

Gasthaus-Landhotel Traunstein in Abtenau is a beautiful, peaceful place to stay, with nice view on the mountains. We appreciated the little personal "messages" in the room - like the wise thoughts on the small pillows or the book on the bedside table. It is also a nice gesture to place a bottle of water in the room for the arriving guests. In addition, we found ourselves in a super clean room with enough space for 2 people, superb bathroom and a comfortable bed. The personnel was friendly, helpful.

Menší rodinný hotel přímo u spodní stanice lanovky. Krásný výhled na hory, výborné snídaně i večeře. V rámci ubytování volný vstup na koupaliště v Abtenau.

Nicht Empfehlenswert

Das Hotel wirkt von außen sehr ansprechend und gepflegt. Besonders praktisch sind die kostenlosen Parkplätze direkt vor Ort. Für Familien gibt es einen Spielplatz, und gleich daneben befindet sich eine Gondelbahn, die man für 20 € nutzen kann. Die Lage mitten in den Bergen ist wirklich schön und sehr angenehm.“

Das Bett war zwar groß, aber sehr unbequem – ich hatte am Morgen starke Rückenschmerzen. Im Zimmer war es zudem sehr heiß, eine Klimaanlage gibt es nicht, und durch die dünnen Wände hört man praktisch alles aus den Nachbarzimmern. Das Frühstück war leider eine absolute Enttäuschung: Überall waren Fliegen, die sich auf das Buffet, die Teller und das Essen gesetzt haben. Die Rühreier waren trocken und kaum genießbar. Die zuständige Mitarbeiterin wirkte sehr unfreundlich und desinteressiert. Gläser waren kaum vorhanden, die angebotenen Säfte stammten nicht aus frischem Obst, sondern aus Verpackungen. Viele Speisen wirkten alt, die Brötchen waren hart und bei den Tomaten war sogar Schimmel zu sehen. Insgesamt war das Frühstück eine Katastrophe und in dieser Form absolut nicht akzeptabel.“

Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Eigentümer/ Personal und eine super leckere Küche, es lohnt sich die Halbpension zu buchen, so ist man unabhängig ob je nach Saison Restaurants geschlossen oder geöffnet sind.
