A truly charming family chateau , maintained and treasured down the generations. Full of eclectic and interesting artefacts, set in lovely grounds, with Highland castle, llamas, sheep and chickens. It felt immensely peaceful to be there and I could have spent days exploring three grounds or relaxing by the pool.
Our hosts were very welcoming, but we were disappointed to find that they were not proving a table d’hôte evening meal that night. Nonetheless we were directed a short distance to a charming guingette, L’Embaille, on the banks of the River Mayenne where we had a very enjoyable meal.

The grounds were spectacular! The host was magnificent! The room was from a fairytale and the history of the chateau was the cherry on top. We had a swim in the pool before a wonderful meal prepared by the host - the whole experience was exceptional!
