PenichePraia - Bungalows, Campers & SPA

Basic, no frills, somewhere to sleep after the Corrida das Fogueiras. We did get back until 3.30am but the security guard let us in and check out was 11am, so we were only there a few hours but it was fine.

Fine for what we needed, no complaints.

The surroundings are very nice

Very small place. Needs to have your essentials in the kitchen…even a knife to cut your things!!

The location is absolutely stunning, It offers a beautiful view of the sunset over the beach, Additionally there is a fabulous restaurant just in front of the campsite and a nice equipped gym. There is also secured parking space.

I noticed the room air felt a bit stuffy, likely due to limited ventilation. I suggest to keep the windows open when the room isn't in use, the small change could enhance the comfort of future guests.

Location had incredible views during the day. Outside the gate was clifftop. A short walk to the viewpoint of coastline and sea view. Also a short walk to the to the town centre, shopping and nice restaurants. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming.

After dark the area was very badly lit and quite dangerous on foot. Did not feel comfortable as the park is quite isolated. No marked pavements or walkways in either direction. Would not recommend walking alone after dark for personal security reasons. Cleanliness was not great. Bungalow was not very clean on arrival, just passable. I stayed 4 nights and the bungalow was not cleaned during my stay. Normally not a big problem but I wasn’t travelling with a sweeping brush, mop and all my usual household cleaning supplies. As I was travelling with a dog I was also charged €10 extra per night ( for cleaning ) but the room was not cleaned during my stay. I still strongly object to being charged extra for proper cleaning, by any proprietor, just because a pet was present. All rooms should be cleaned 100% regardless of occupancy. The spa / pool and fitness centre are all charged extra, as is parking inside the park in the bungalow areas.
