The George Inn

Warm welcome. Lovely restaurant and bar areas. Pleasant outside space. Excellent location. Dinner in the restaurant was absolutely superb. Pleasant waiting staff. Owner has done a grand job with refurbishment so far but still work in progress.

Rooms a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Sad as they have a charm about them. Bar closed very early for a hotel at 10.30pm.

As always, there is a friendly welcome from the minute you arrive. The rooms are comfortable with good facilities but the quirkiness of an old building. Breakfast is excellent and you are always so well looked after in the dining room.

Nice room. Private car park. Drinks in courtyard were great - friends staying in other locations had really noisy beer gardens and so joined us. Close to castle (amazing). Had a great 'car chat' with owner and fellow sport car nut. See Don't Likes. Loved Oakham

Was a hot day/night and across our expanse of windows over the market place the only ones we could open were tiny ones at each end. Radiators turned off. Boiling hot. Resorted to using the table top fans you provide which were, in our case, incredibly noisy and hence, overall, a really poor night's sleep at 'suite' rates. The owner agreed that you should make more of your car park. Had I known then I would have used ,my 'classic' but, as info was absent, just used my everyday car. As a classic/vintage car owner then the first thing, before bedrooms etc, I look at is the car parking!

The room was shabby and needs a refurb. Messy plastering and some paint missing. Sofa was sagging
