What I liked about Hermes Hotel is that it delivers solid value for the price. It's a no-frills option, ideal if you're just looking for a clean place to sleep and shower. The check-in and check-out process was quick and efficient. The continental breakfast, while basic, was good enough to start the day. I appreciated the availability of hot water and the fact that the room came with functioning air conditioning and a stable Wi-Fi connection. There's also a reception desk that stays open until late, which adds a sense of convenience and security.
What I didn’t like was the lack of attention to small but important details in the room. The AC remote barely worked because the batteries were nearly dead, and the soap dispenser was broken, so I had to use the combined shampoo/shower gel—which then ran out and wasn’t replenished the next day, even though the room had been cleaned. You can probably call reception and request these things, and they’d likely provide them, but it was late, I was tired, and honestly, you shouldn’t have to ask for the basics. The drying rack on the balcony was usable but damaged, adding to a general sense of carelessness in maintenance. Everything was clean and functional at a basic level, but there’s room for improvement in quality control.

I had a truly lovely experience at Hotel Hermes. The location is perfect - just a short walk to the beach and close to the town center, yet quiet enough to enjoy a peaceful stay. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday.
What stood out the most was the hospitality - the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, with a good variety of local products.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Crete and would love to come back in the future. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!

Good location, nice breakfast, friendly female staff
Old property. Booked two rooms. Was indeed once renovated, but shocked to find out that the entrance handle/lock of the superior room looked unstable, one sliding door of the shower in the room next door was missing so difficult to shower without flooding the whole bathroom . Aircon unit in the superior room didn’t work and second aircon unit was leaking, cupboard under the sink was smelling, and tap loose. Laminated floor on top of old floor but unfinished so easy to trip and dirt and mould visible.
No kitchen towel, nor hand soap, nor sponge in the kitchen available. No kettle. The extra kitchen items on the photos were nowhere to be found. No bin in the room, only in bathroom.
