Don Gregory By Dunas in San Augustin. Firstly the negatives…. None that I could find. Positives, amazing bedrooms with the finest sea views . Bedrooms were clean and maids came every day. Cleaners started very early, cleaning the pool area, waiting areas and then moving to the bedrooms. Its apparent this hotel takes hygiene importantly. The food was varied and wide ranging with a themed night, Mexican, Italian etc. The waiters quick to serve and helpful . Particular praise to the chefs at the live cooking station who where eager to please, the chef at the egg cooking station in the mornings and the ones cooking the meats in the evening. If hiring a car, it is advisable to book a car parking space at the hotel which is roughly 10/12 euros a day. Parking around the area is hard to find and I believe the shopping centre opposite charges in the region of 20 euros a day . We were catching a late fight and the hotel were unable to accommodate our request for a late checkout. However they offered a room with a shower for one hour which was free and very helpful. The location is perfect, direct access to the beach with a long promenade whereby you can walk to Maspolomas if you wanted. We walked to Playa Ingles each night which took about 1 hour(there and back). The beach is immaculate. Recommendations for the hotel.. petty but when the waiters serve coffee in the mornings, they give a large coffee flask with another the same size with milk. We only used 20% and each day kept leaving 80% of milk unused/wasted. Would be better to serve milk in much smaller jugs to prevent wastage. Would we stay here again….absolutley yes!!

If I have ti find something - the evening Entertainment on the evening of Tuesday was poor.

Best location in San Agustin. Very calm and relaxing. Only the sound of the waves can be heard at night. Good food, so happy and friendly staff at the restaurant. Every breakfast and every dinner was a pleasure thanks to this.

Here’s the problem. This hotel has such good potential but the experience easily gets ruined by the reception staff. Not one smile or cheerfulness at all, by anyone there. Also very unapologetic for when something goes wrong (like when the room isn’t ready in time…). Overall unhelpful and poor communication skills. As a new guest, you need to find out stuff on your own. This was the only negative aspect of the stay, but it has a big impact. The wi-fi was unreliable and often not available. Apparently this was normal. Nothing they could do about it.
