Able to get a room at last minute, room fine, hotel is an odd configuration

Large room with big window looked over medieval wall & St Stephens. Room was convoluted to get to.

Ate at restaurant because arrived late. Person in charge of dining room was not happy that we had not booked, made it seem like a chore to give us a table even though plenty of tables free. Expensive for the not very good food (schnitzel & 1 other breaded thing) $84 for the 2 entrees & 2 beers.

Great stay at Hotel Stadt Breisach

The view of the Rhine river from the room was fantastic. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast had a very nice selection and was very good. There is a shuttle from the train station to the hotel once per hour if you do not want to climb the slope to the top of the hill.

Perfect location, old fashioned hotel lack of services for the price range

Perfect location above city but very poor services, WiFi extremely slow and not stable. No possiblities to get any drink, even coffee until 14:30...Sinlge room very small and the bathroom from the 80's was too small for the price asked.

Beside the location, everything as the price range do not match the service offered...Will not come back and will not recommend this place.

A hilltop perch with great views and excellent meals

Beautiful hotel in upper town overlooking the Rhine. Easy free parking outside. We ate dinner in the hotel and it was excellent as was the service. There is a lovely bar in the hotel where we had drinks after dinner rather than go down into the lower town. Room very spacious with view of the church to one side and Rhine on the other. Excellent breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay. The area around the hotel is lovely, opposite the church with fantastic views over the river, town and surrounding country side

Nothing but be aware hotel in upper town, basically on top of a small hill - walking down to where shops, restaurants etc are is easy but very steep coming back up which might be an issue for those with mobility issues. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived (we were early) and we went down into town for lunch - Receptionist said to leave our bags outside reception desk - would have preferred if a luggage room available or taken in behind Reception desk.

A very nice place in a lovely location but don't eat in the restaurant.

The location, room and the view with balcony were very nice. The gentleman working at the bar was extremely pleasant and professional. Thank you for your hospitality.

The food at the restaurant was not enjoyable at all. My husband's Schnitzel and my chicken were not eatable, we had to give them back. They were like taken from the freezer and not freshly prepared. There was also no taste at all, like the cook had forgotten to put any spice to the food. We informed the service staff about this and they were very unfriendly and ignorant/arrogant to us. Would not visit the restaurant again for dinner. The breakfast buffet was very nice.

Fantastic location on the cliff top overlooking the river. Nice 70ies architecture with a certain The Shining vibe, in a good sense. Restaurant with the same great view as the room.

The dinner staff at the restaurant seemed inexperienced and made a few mistakes (all other staff were great). Dinner menu could be better. No air-conditioning.

If the owners weren’t so tight, this would be amazing and worth the extra cost. But definitely not as it is.

Lovely location, particularly as we needed to be nearby for a wedding. Breakfast was good. Views were almost good (see photo of view of Rhine from our veranda).

No air con; no fridge; shutters had been removed from the window; no iron and ironing board; no coffee making facilities in the room. There was a surcharge for parking & extra beds & for city tax (as stated on Booking.com) which was fine as we knew in advance so could make our choice but there was also a surcharge for swimming which was not stated. When we said we’d expected it to be included as other things with a surcharge were pointed out in the info, and our daughter was really disappointed, they didn’t care. Even when I explained she only wanted a quick swim as we were going to a wedding, so didn’t want to pay over €6 (the day rate) for just half an hour, they still didn’t relent. They did offer fans for the rooms when I said I’d been surprised at the lack of facilities given the price, so at least we slept the second night. Shame we had to ask for them. Luckily we had free cancellation for tonight so we are in a beautiful air con room, with fridge, and coffee making facilities, walking distance from Strasbourg for around the same price instead!

Bad service, bad food

The view was good

The service from the Reception was really bad. They were not interested in sharing information - and making the stay better, e.g. about a wonderful public outdoor swim pool close to the hotel. Several service people in the restaurant seemed unhappy and not serviceminded at all. The food was bad!! The wienerschnitzel and pommes tasted of fish!

I liked the vue and the accessibility to get inside the hotel,as I was arriving after 22h...the room was nice, cozy and I liked the wet lavender wipe for the pillow,I slept very peacefully

I was preferring to have a fridge with cold water in the room...

the Rhein view is gorgeous, big room, big bathroom, communication with stuff excellent, a very good hotel. The breakfast options are amazing. The wellness / swimmingpool now opens early, which makes a great difference!!

I'v been to this hotel before, when It belonged to "best western" and It was much better, 1. They tried to give me a room on the next building where you need 2 elevators and a lot to walk! When you make a reservation you must insist being on the main building, 2. Thay took the minibar away even in the suites, 3. You can't make a koffee in rhe roon 4. The kitchen is in the basemant and all the hotel smells food for long ours, It even get into the rooms..5 Thay charged money to use the pool..

Beds are very very hard. Never slept in beds, that hard, seriously. Had the staff to Bring some sort of soft topping, which mitigated the hardness to a bearable Level.

Wir waren schon mal in diesem Hotel vor 11 oder 12 Jahren. Es hat sich nicht viel verändert. Die besten Tage des Hauses sind definitiv vorbei. Das Hotel war damals noch bei Best Western. Jetzt nicht mehr!!! wieso???? Alles wirkte etwas eintönig.

Schönes, bequemes und ruhiges Zimmer. Nettes Personal und feines Essen. Die Lage mit Sicht auf den Rhein ist sehr schön. Wir lassen uns hier gerne wieder einmal Verwöhnen.

Hotel op prachtige locatie

De éénpersoonkamer is toereikend, het ontbijt is geweldig, evenals het uitzicht vanauit restaurant, zwembad en spa-facaliteiten aanwezig (tegen toeslag) en locatie optimaal.

Zwembad tegen toeslag, gewoon beetje jammer, ook maar tot 21u open, dus geen baantje trekken voor het slapengaan. Badkamer van kamer 101 (eenpersoons) heel klein. Karig onderhoud doet soms armoedig aan, bijv. buitenkant vensters in restaurant zijn vies, beïnvloed de beleving.
