Heidekönig Hotel Celle

Nice staff. Clean room. Privat and free parking. Good food.

A bit far from the city center.

Very well located just a 20 minute walk into Celle town. Very clean and spacious rooms with very comfy beds. The restaurant/bar facilities were also great. The hotel has been updated since the last time we stayed and loved the industrial fixtures and fittings. Ample parking around the back of the hotel.

Contractors/local people living in/next to hotel played their music loud both in the room above us and to the side of the hotel. Workmen going out to their cars at 6am and revving it up and having their car radios on full blast directly opposite the windows of the rooms by the car park spaces down the side of the hotel. Continental Breakfast options were great on the first day with an abundance of cold meats/cheeses and salmon and plenty of choice with fresh fruit, sadly after day one the options for fresh fruit were very poor, only providing pineapple and grapes and no more salmon and lack of cold continental meats. There also wasn’t a great choice on the cooked selection. Customer service from the staff was very mixed. When we first arrived the young lady on reception was very polite and friendly but sadly she came across quite grumpy and sullen for the rest of our stay, not even so much as a good morning when I addressed her at breakfast time and this was the same experience for our other 5 guests. There was also a tall lady with long dark hair who was very curt towards us. We had booked a table in the restaurant for 10 people on the Monday evening and admittedly they were a little loud as they were our extended family that we were catching up with and there was a lot of laughter and talking which it appears the staff didn’t like. Another member of staff who worked behind the bar, shorter lady with dark short hair and glasses was absolutely fabulous! And also another young lady who worked in the restaurant on the Tuesday evening was so welcoming and gave such great service that my mum left a large tip for her and commented on how disappointed we were with the staff the previous evening. Not really what you would expect when staying in a hotel for 5 nights!

The shower was excellent. The beds were good. Dinner was ok. Breackfast excellent.

Friendly staff, clean.

Central heating at the rooms was deactivated for the season. Combined with exceptionally cold weather it was quite uncomfortable to stay at the rooms and specially using the bathroom.
