A Nightmare inside the chalet

Beautiful structure from outside by the lake

It was a nightmare. 1. The floors are incredibly low, at 1.9m high, I was touching the roof with my head. Everything smelled funny. 2. The room was extremely small, with an internal temperature of 40°C. I woke up every night to open the windows, despite having deactivated the heating. 3. There was no sound insulation, you could perfectly hear everything happening in the room next door. At 4am, my neighbor woke up and I could hear everything. 4. The reception is on the other side of the road and the main door is always open. You can imagine how safe this is. Also, to have breakfast, you have to go outside because the stairs to the breakfast area were closed. 5. The breakfast was very poor, no warm eggs or bacon, very limited options. On top of that, at the end of my stay, I was asked to pay 26 CHF (for two nights) for parking. The parking is on the road, with no signs indicating private parking, and nobody told me this was not free when I checked in. Never again.

With its historic charm and secluded location, this lodge is the perfect escape for travelers looking to get away from the city. I also liked the fact that the price includes a delicious buffet breakfast. The surrounding hills and mountains are currently experiencing beautiful snowfall.

Charming historic chalet

We loved this historic chalet, which was full of character. The location is beautiful, right on the lake. The employees were kind and welcoming.

The hotel is indeed "squeaky". It didn't bother us too much, and we liked the character that this added. However, it might not be ideal for light sleepers.

Location of as amazing with private access to the lake

Room quite dark, very basic which is fine but walls very thin and floors creaky above, no air-conditioning which we hadn’t checked ahead of booking.

It was an authentic Chalet , that felt like a log cabin. Well decorated on the outside.

To and from Lucerne with a one hour train frequency using local trains, results in a lot of commute time.

It’s an authentic Swiss chalet. The restaurant was very good. It’s the best Swiss food we had during our trip!

That the check-in was actually in another building which we didn’t know about. It was one of the waiters who directed us to check in the other building.

Disappointing quality

The breakfast was delicious, and the bed was reasonably good. The building looks gorgeous from outside and is quite authentic inside. The staff were very friendly.

There is only one WC and one shower room for the whole floor, and both are in need of renovation. The room was really tiny and terribly hot (early summer heatwave) and only had one functioning electricity socket, so you could either cool the room or charge the phone but not both at the same time. Avoid this place if you're taller than 180cm, as beds, doors, shower etc. is all made for shorter folks. In the morning I noticed I had been bitten by either a bird flea or a bedbug; the latter would obviously be a disaster, but I saw no other signs of them in the room so I suppose (I wish) they are bird flea bites. I was also a bit disappointed in the total lack of acustic insulation - the creaking floors are ok but loud neighbors not so much. I had planned to go for a swim as the hotel has a private lake shore garden but helas, it wasn't good for swimming. Lastly, I think 10CHF per night for parking the car on the hotel parking area is exaggerated.

Clean, friendly hotel by the lake.

The staff were helpful and the room was clean. We enjoyed spending some time in the private area by the lake. Comfortable loungers with a stunning view.

Our room was small, dark with a low ceiling and no air con so very hot and stuffy even though a fan was provided.The en-suite was clean but small and basic. Did not feel we got value for money.

Beautiful chalet but wouldn’t stay again.

Beautiful location by the lake & easy access to train. Traditional Swiss chalet with lots of charm. Lovely restaurant next door Caju grill & bar. Great halloumi burgers!

Room overlooking noisy road couldn’t sleep at all, everything creaked. Could hear all surrounding guests. One shared toilet between 6 rooms & not that clean. 25 chf for breakfast!! No tea or coffee in room have to go to schloss hotel for a free drink.

Room mis-sold as including a working fire and sauna. No fire, no sauna, inadequate bedding.

The Stork Room is spacious, and has a faded rustic charm. The restaurant is pleasant, although a bit expensive for what it is. We had dinner, but not the expensive breakfast. The hotel is owned by the ugly fake "schloss" across the road, which claims to be but is not a castle. It's a 60s or 70s block, and you check in and out and park at that hotel.

The room was advertised as having a working fireplace and a sauna. The room has a non-working fireplace and no sauna. The bathroom is a relic from the 1970s. The towels were thin and worn. The only heating available was from an obtrusive plug-in electric heater. The duvets were thin, and no extra bed covers were provided. Over-priced for a faded 3 star.

Sweet staff bummer food and accomodations

Staff amazing if staying at older building across street above Restaurant just know super noisy street cars and creeky floors. Very clean though nice staff.

The restaurant across the street near Coop very expensive and really bad food as far as dinner. Bread was only good thing. Hamburger LOL !! Trout with boiled potatoes $40 haha no taste.

Beautiful hotel on the shore of Lake Lucerne

We were given an upgrade to their adjoining property, the Schless Hotel, which was across the street and right on Lake Lucerne, a magnificent view and location just a few minutes from Lucerne. Room was spacious and you felt like you were in a castle. Breakfast was also amazing.

Exceptional

We loved our stay at the Chalet-Hotel Lodge from start to finish. We were greeted by a kind lady at reception who proceeded to tell us we had been upgraded and gave us a tasty welcome drink - an apple juice from the region. Our room had a wonderful view of the lake and was extremely comfortable with a free mini bar, good sized TV, bath robes and a large bed. Thanks for everything!

BEAUTIFUL and quiet.

I loved everything and the staff was amazing. i would absolutely come back here. Excellent spacious room with a balcony and Lake View. 😍Quick train ride from Lucerne station. Beautiful quiet location by the lake with outdoor areas for families, kids playground and lake access to swim. Absolutely beautiful 🤩 Man at the front desk helped me out with the local train schedules and even wrote down the station names for me. He was absolutely amazing (I wish I could remember his name) They provided me with an adapter as well 🔌 Thank you!!!

A must try property for a stay

The great hospitality given by the staff (I didn't get to know his name unfortunately) was at the reception. The facilities in the location is fantastic and can give full mark for cleanliness as well. I recommend this property to stay if anyone wants have fantabulous stay in and around of Lucern....

The location is just perfect, you can swim in the lake. Eat & drink very good. Plus point is also the ability to charge your electric vehicle for the Price of 15€. Good parking space. The staff is super friendly and don't mind any question.
