We tried this hotel for a one night stay, my birthday, and had a terrible experience with our room. A cockroach appeared at night (not much later than our check in) and the response from reception was ‘I can go and get it out’, not the answer you expect from a 4-star hotel almost 200usd a night being the starting price. Only after we got serious, the receptionist accepted to change our room. After this conversation, he appeared in our room like a cockroach hunter. Needless to say the cockroach was faster and our hero failed his doomed mission, besides this, he gave us the next room key, where we found a spider waiting for us and after all, no apologies were received from his end. Surreal. Only next day when we spoke to another receptionist they apologised but still no compensation whatsoever and that’s why I’m here writing this review. I’d love this was a joke, but it’s not. Apart from this, the breakfast was quite good . The outdoor pool is nice when it’s hot and has great views (the best thing of this hotel). The indoor spa is worth but definitely could be cleaner too. The staff in general was nice/ok to us apart from the cockroach hunter. That’s why I give 2 stars and not 1. In conclusion, I’d only go to this hotel if you are looking for a nice view (keep in mind those rooms are only and few and more expensive of course) and an OK pool/spa experience. There are definitely better, cleaner and cheaper options in Horta if you don’t want that.

Facility is a little aged, but they are working on updates. Convenient location in Horta, close to marina and beautiful view of Pico.

The hotel's staff and their good education and friendliness is what saves this hotel. The hotel itself has a good location and decent wellness facilities (steam bath, sauna, whirlpool, interior pool and sundeck with another outdoor pool). That said, the hotel hasn't been updated in a long time and there are many spots that look neglected. It's fine for a few days.
