Garajau Madeira Hotel

I had a great stay at Garajau Madeira Hotel. The location was super convenient, and the breakfast was excellent with plenty of good options each morning. My room was comfortable and clean, and most rooms seem to have really nice views of either the gardens or the sea, which was a big plus. The staff were consistently friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay. I also enjoyed the facilities — the bar, multiple pools, massage service, and even the table tennis were all really good additions that made the stay feel relaxed and fun. Overall, a really enjoyable experience.

The only downside for me was that most sections of the hotel don’t have fans or air‑conditioning. One part of the hotel has already been renovated and modernized with A/C, which is great, but it would be even better if the remaining sections were updated too. For now, having fans available in all rooms would make a big difference. The staff were very considerate though — they provided a fan as soon as I asked, which I really appreciated.

Very accommodating, the room itself was nice and tidy, the workers where very friendly and always ready to help or answer any question i may have, always answering with a smile, breakfast was amazing, with a variety of options and very organised. Loved all of it

The sad part was the fact there was no parking. Though i was able to park in the street and had no issues.

There is plenty for your money at this hotel - from the pools and the surrounding food & drinks available in close distance, it is a brilliant bargain stay if you are looking for that holiday feeling without the price tag of an all-inclusive resort.

The staff on reception appeared to be talking about us in Portuguese, and they put us in a room in the farthest building and furthest room in that building. That is the one annoying downside and only a downside if they decide to place you there. The rooms were very basic.

This hotel is just cheap, that is the biggest advantage of it if you want a budget vacation. Nice friendly staff, close to the airport, daily room cleaning.

Old everything, old doors, windows, switches, plugs in the room. Got some very nasty skin infection from the outdoor pool as the water was not clean. The food is low quality, synthetic scrambled eggs, leftover breads from yesterday, poorly washed dishes and cutlery. There is no soundproofing of any kind so your experience will largely depends on the neighbors you get, my last day some arabic guy was yelling on his phone that all the surrounding rooms heard every single word. The last downside is the location, if you want beach access this hotel is far away from the shores.
