Nice clean room with lovely view of the sea. Easy code access to hotel as there are no staff on the property.
Despite it being a double room, there was only one chair to sit on. Not ideal for a couple in our 70’s
The tv was positioned on a wall to the right of the bed so one of us had to sit on the side edge of the bed with no back support , very uncomfortable.

Its a gorgeous property in a good location
The staff had no idea what they were doing. The guidelines and instructions contradicted themselves even once I established they did have the electric vehicle charging advertised the staff didn’t know how to work it consistently. One day they connected straight away the next day I waited 45 minutes for them to try to work out how. Signage is poor and be careful on arrival because as you enter the drive if restaurant staff don’t bother to close the gate to the bin store, it’s very easy to drive into it as it blocks the driveway on a side that is not well lit!

It was clean and tidy.
The entry to the room was a great idea but it was a circular door handle right next to the door architrave! You got hurt just getting into the room and it's clearly happened before because the paint was chipped.
The water pipes to the bath moved through about 30°.
Unless there is a wonderful view don't put the bath in the bedroom.

Location was ideal for the visit.
The radiator in the room could not be left on as it made a loud banging/rattling noise and therefore disturbed the sleep. it also meant that the room was cold ( it was December , over Christmas )

I didn't like the view yes I asked for a seaview where you could see the sea but looking out across the roof with building bags was not so great just a small negative
The room was freezing a nice touch at this time of year would be a pre heat room for customers..I have stayed at many locations with a lesser price mark and they have achieved this..
The bathroom radiator did not work and was absolutely freezing there I couldn't stay there too long .
I did ask staff members but she was knew she was very lovely and understanding.i didn't bother to call them again as I was exhausted from my day.
Coffee machine again didn't produce nice coffee at all
Maybe it was me but made several attempts.
And just to nick pick some parts of the bathroom could do touching up and smarting up to complement the fantastic residence

We booked Holm House as it was in a great location to be near family at Christmas. It is also close to the sea and Penarth pier. We found the room to be very comfortable and well designed - a large bed with firm mattress, a nice welcome package, fluffy towels. It felt upmarket and luxurious. The building itself is stunning. We took advantage of the availability of the restaurant downstairs and enjoyed a bottle of wine and tapas at the bar where we were made to feel very welcome. All in all a great stay.
It was mid-winter so too cold to use the gardens however they have a beautiful terrace and garden and as we hope to come again, we would make use of these.

It was a bit of a faff to get the code and I had to provide passport photo and a £100 is held on your payment card for security against damage. The payment had been held by Airservice for a month after I stayed, this is far too long and quite frankly too long to release back to a card. Hair was found in the bed and on the bathroom floor from previous guests.

Location, easy access and secure car parking
Design of our 2 bedroom room was difficult with 2 grown ups as the toilet had to be accessed via the other bedroom and vice versa with the shower. Otherwise the rooms were adequate.

Great location and a lovely room.
Arriving to no staff, as an international traveller, my eSIM wasn’t working properly and hadn’t realised there was no staff onsite at all and that the codes etc were all in my emails and very difficult for me to access as the internet wasn’t working for me. When I eventually managed to work out the codes and get inside the building, I had to drag and manoeuvre heavy luggage up the stairs to my room - and then the door wouldn’t open to my room even with the codes. After multiple attempts to enter the room - I was I tears by this stage - and I’m sure their CCTV footage on arrival shows my struggling and stumbling up the stairs with luggage and then coming down in to the dark lobby area and having to email to say I could only get calls through What’s App. The response was a jaunty “Here’s a tip - go back up, enter to codes and wriggle and pull the(heavy door) towards you - as the codes are activated - and it might give you access. No apology - I did get in my room - and the room was all I hoped. The 100% lack of support onsite spoilt my visit - and basically when I called again to speak (as I also had to try and work out how to charge the electric car etc) to someone - I was firmly told I should have read my booking more fully and to just use the app and follow instructions better. I’ve never felt so unwelcome/uncared for in any hotel I’ve stayed in internationally - and given this was a treat - I was horrified at the treatment and response.

The patrons from the restaurant were noisy when hanging about the parking area when smoking or bidding farewell to one another - the windows are not noise cancelling/double glazed, hence sounded like the crowd were in our room - settled down after 22:30

Countless e mails as self check in .left my card details as requested for breakages ?? Then had 3 further e mails asking for the deposit, bearing in mind this hotel is rsted as luxury.
Contacted the number online , was assured I would not have any further e mails, and I would be sent a code to gain access . I did. It didn't work !!. 8 pm arrival, 3 calls they finally called back , said AGAINi had not paid deposit, I had !!! Did get in., then the code never ever worked again .
Shower flooded the bathroom .

Very easy to get in, the PIN code worked well. We were able to park on site which felt more secure. The room was clean and comfortable and they had left us a bag of goodies
Not a criticism but it would be good if in the future breakfast could be available. Having said that, there was a fridge, coffee machine and kettle

The door was difficult to open - the code worked but the door was sticking. We worked it out in the end - pull it quickly towards you before pushing it!

Check-in process was completely remote and seamless, did not encounter any challenges with access.
Getting an EV charging code was a bit convoluted, I ended up not using the EV charging point. I suspect someone with an EV would be motivated to navigate that process, but as I had a plug-in hybrid, I decided to forgo charging. Also, there was only a single EV charging point (the second charger was not installed).

Great location and spacious room with comfortable bed and a roomy balcony. Pleasing decor. Nice starter pack of snacks. Good sized bathroom. Quiet location. A minute’s walk to the sea front and a 15 min drive into Cardiff. Can see the sea over the balcony wall. Quiet room and not overlooked.
Unpleasant drain smell in corridor. Shower had a missing knob and you couldn’t adjust the heat. Heaters came on randomly both nights at bedtime. Turned them right down but they came on again after a while - not a good smell when they came on (the one in the bathroom was very dusty). Some of the furniture a bit ‘wobbly’ and the bottom bit of the fridge cabinet was falling off, but I fixed it and it will look nicer for the next person. Had a check out message about putting rubbish in black bags and recycling bags but no such bags existed. Assumed that meant I had to take out the rubbish but no outside bins (ended up taking the rubbish to where I was working). Also message said to turn the heaters off - I did but they probably turned themselves back on again when my back was turned! Also not keen on giving my personal data for check in (they need a photo of passport or driving licence. in addition to lots of personal data) and thought £100 breakage deposit was a bit excessive - stay away a lot at weekends in all sorts of places and don’t usually get that.

Room very small, no where to relax except in the bed and narrow space beside bed. Cold room, no obvious way to turn up heating. Although they did turn on radiator rather responding to check in message... (hadn't responded to my earlier text). Bathroom radiator did not work at all. Water for shower was lukewarm at best and bathroom obviously very cold. Although generally clean chrome taps etc in bathroom were tarnished and shower curtain stained at bottom.... not quite the luxury feel advertised. Cost was not justified ... not really the premium luxury experience that was advertised. Could do with curtains as blind didn't keep out light and curtains would have helped with draught through window.

The location was perfect for walking along Penarth Pier and into town.
Outside areas need management as broken items, cans of coke, spare umbrella stands, windows are left laying around. Loose handle on bathroom door in Room 203. No hot water in shower in Room 103. Kept awake all Saturday night as broken gazebo roof in garden was banging in the wind! Where was the “Elegant private residents lounge” surely not the seating in the lobby, outside the restaurant, which was actually occupied by two ladies having drinks, who weren’t even staying at Holm House?
