We had drinks and a meal in the bar area of the pub, meal and drinks were good. Although we were cold, couldn’t get warm, and ended up going to our room early just to get warm!

Good location for visiting Wentworth village and the mansion. Room and bathroom were of decent size and looked like they were renovated quite recently. Nice and comfortable bed.

Zero hospitality at this place. The check-in is at the pub across the street, which is extremely crowded and you need to queue with everyone else to get the keys. In the parking lot we stepped right into 2-3 inches of pure mud. No paved pathway, nothing improvised to show that at least they tried something to fix it. Yes, it is the country side, but there is a minimum of civilisation expected. There was plenty of dried mud in our room, hairs in the bathroom, unwashed coffee cups from previous guests and a general feel that there is no housekeeping at all. Pub across the street always very crowded, understaffed and the waiting times to eat were ridiculous, at least two hours for a basic meal. Very odd place and will not return. Not even for free.

It's Yorkshire: what's not to like??!!

The room was cosy - a small twin. Warm and quiet. Plenty of hot water, tea and coffee making facilities, clean towels. The staff were very good: the manager who checked us in was excellent, finding us a table for dinner in the restaurant which was extremely helpful, and Gina, who oversaw breakfast. Good breakfast - better on the 2nd morning than the first for some reason! Extra sausage on the 2nd morning. Lovely location in the pretty village of Wentworth with the award-winning garden centre within walking distance, and the historic Wentworth Woodhouse close by. A very old pub with lots of character.

The area around our accomodation was very muddy underfoot which had an adverse affect on shoes and trousers.

Large quality room giving a country experience that ticks all the boxes

Really beautiful heritage pub property in a quaint village. The rooms was spacious, warm, inviting and very comfortable. We had a drink in the pub across the road and breakfast the next morning……all authentic.

I’m pushing it here, but voting on a snowy winter day, our experience could have been enhanced if the snow had been cleared from the car park and the path to the accommodation

Overall a great place to stay

Accommodation is in a separate block so no disturbance from the pub. You gave your own key and just come in and out. Spacious character rooms with a modern twist in a historic building. Food is vey good at the pub.

There was no milk in the room and when I went across the road to ask as I’d booked 2 rooms and no milk in either the reply I got was we have run out of pots and we are having a delivery tomorrow. So they knew but hadn’t left a note in the rooms? I asked for 2 small jugs of milk and I was told no I couldn’t have that. I was baffled at this stage but was told I couldn’t have a glass from behind the bar with milk in for each room. In room 9 there was a large patch of black damp under the window.

Absolutely lovely!

Idyllic would be the word to describe the Rockingham Arms in gorgeous Wentworth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely staff and excellent breakfast.

The rooms are beautiful, cozy and warm

The pub was very disappointing, apparently they had not had their usual deliveries and when we arrived they had a really poor selection of beer and wine. The service was poor although the staff were lovely, we were waiting a while to get served and the staff were not really trained in what they were serving. The pub was also freezing, even the restaurant on the evening had a poor selection of what was available from the menu and again very cold in the dining room

It was a quaint place. Some may find it quite dated but I liked it as it was very in keeping with the age of the house and pub.

It was cold when I went into my room so it took a while to get warm but extra heaters were available. Stairs were a bit precarious to my room especially as I use a walking stick but staff were really helpful. It was all part of the charm and didn’t feel the need to deduct anything from my score.

Room was clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean with constant hot water and good water pressure for shower. Staff were very welcoming but not intrusive. Food was very good. Breakfast was cooked to order. Dinner was very good and they served late, which was good because we arrived very late. Free, private parking

Slight damp smell in bedroom when it was raining heavy - possibly carpet. Traffic noise in early hours on weekday - although, strangely, it was not a problem at the weekend.

The room was freezing when we arrived. The radiator worked eventually but to be honest I never warmed up. Once we were seated in the restaurant it too the staff nearly half hour to collect our order. It wasn’t too busy in there & there were 3 staff on. Food was ok.

Great Food, Some lovely Staff, Extremely Noisy Rooms

Some of the staff were bubbly & friendly, others..well let’s just say they need to find an alternative vocation in life…Hospitality means you’ll need to have a smile on your face pretty much 24/7 365…saying that though most of the staff….simply lovely and full of life…the lady with the young daughter & lady with the flaming red hair a credit..to the establishment! …loved the variety of food and it was extremely tasty!

Unfortunately..the high volume of traffic late on a night & early mornings makes the bedrooms opposite the pub very noisy yo say the least! Hope you get the faulty fire alarm fixed…having that screaming, waking my 3rd old grandson up and frightening the life out of him…crying his eyes out!! Just what you need on the long day of huge celebrations! The original sliding boxed sash windows are in a port state really, we had to jam a rolled up towel into keep it open to allow air flow.. The secondary glazing installed is of a very poor quality, due to the probability of a covenance being on the property I’m guessing that windows can be touched/ replaced??

Possibly return but not in a hurry

We traveled from Scotland and had terrible roads and weather which made us very late. We were having a family get together as we came from the Wentworth area and knew the are well and indeed the actual Rockingham Arms pre GK but we arrived six hours late. The staff were excellent and booked us in showed us the room I explained our predicament and asked what time the bar closed. We were unable to have dinner there as we explained we had to go out and would be back hopefully before the bar closed at 11pm. The bedroom was huge and tastefully decorated but I did not like the carpet. The bathroom was huge and all the bedrooms had been recently decorated. Breakfast was good although no black pudding. Service good

The bedroom had a damp smell about it the fan in the bathroom was not working the bar had closed before 10.30pm so I did not get a drink nor anyone to get one from. The perfect end to a perfect day

Great place to stay

Perfect location, within walking distance of Wentworth Woodhouse & Wentworth Garden Centre, lovely area to go for a walk. Spacious room, comfy bed and pillows, we both had a good night's sleep. Had a fantastic time for my daughter's wedding that was held in the barn. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Loved the fiddlers who were playing on Thursday night, lovely guys. Delicious food at reasonable prices, good choice of drinks. Breakfast delicious.

It felt a little cold in our room around the door area, would be a good idea to put a curtain near the door area to keep light and chill out, we were in room 1

Lovely pub with rooms over the road.

The staff were helpful, the old pub was characterful and beds were comfy and room nicely decorated.

Our room was on the ground floor situated in a building opposite the pub ie right on the road. The road was busy’ish and we worried about opening our window right next to the road. The room smelt musty and needed an airing.

Food was very good, and reasonably priced. Accommodation was spacious but comfortable; also within reasonable walking distance of the venue my show was at - the magnificent Wentworth Woodhouse Hall. Staff were both friendly and efficient.

We likes everything about our stay We have no complaints The day of check-in, my elderly mother was given the room upstairs, and the young lady changed us around without being asked She showed us to our rooms and was very informative about food where to go, and places to visit. Very friendly and the food was out of this world.

A really pleasant one night stay. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

We just stayed for one night visiting family nearby. Check in was easy and we were shown to our room. It was very clean and tidy and looked liked it had recently been refurbished. Bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was great with a good choice of food and drink. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful. We didn't have an evening meal there so can't comment on that. The pub/restaurant is full of character and the unexpected musical entertainment late evening was a bonus. Its certainly better than staying at a modern clinical hotel chain. Would definitely stay again.

There was only one hand towel in the bathroom. We like to have one each. You have to cross a busy road to get to the main pub/restaurant. Although we knew this when we booked we didn't realise the road would be so busy. If you have a room looking over the road there is a bit of traffic noise during the night. Would have liked more tea/milk and sugar as we are both big tea drinkers. ( We usually bring our own as experience has taught us that supplies can be a bit limited in most hotels ) I am sure the hotel would have been willing to supply more on request but as we were only there one night it wasn't worth us asking.

This is a great place

Great place ,good atmosphere and location, very clean. I like the fact that the accommodation is over the road. The food is good, and breakfast is exceptional with great staff. Great value for money.
