The not so great experience started before I checked in. I had a familly member pass away and was helping as I was originally not going to be able to travel. Granted I did book a non-refundable stay, but the management was not understanding and would not even allow for a partial refund.
My family allowed myself and my daughter to still make the trip and upon check in we were given a room that didn't have a working AC unit.
We were given another room, but the sheets had blood stains on it. The AC worked for a day, but on the 2nd day it stopped working. So we went back downstairs to ask for another room with a working AC. There were a couple of staff members that were amazing and helpful, but the others were not helpful at all.
Then we had a working AC unit, but our toilet would not flush. So we needed to get that fixed and asked to not switch rooms since this AC worked.
I would not recommend this location unless you have a limitless amount of patience and don't mind being shuffled to different rooms for a working AC unit.
Our stay was for 9 days too.

Grreat location with inclusive Ferry shuttle to Canary Wharf, good large room, with bathtub. Nice common outdoor sitting area. However, no frills at all: no fridge and no kettle inside the room. No shared kitchen as in some other hostels. A/C was heating instead and not easy to switch off. Luggage storage is by trust only - a big common room that anyone can access.
But it’s great walking around along the riverside and we enjoyed breakfast at the nearby farm.

I booked a room for 3 people with beds only made up for 2 and housekeeping advising we need to make other beds ourselves! The staff altjough polite erre not very friendly or knowledgeable about facilitirs around the area. It was extremely hot and the AC was not working. They also ran out of food

The location of this accommodation is nice, not exactly in the center but surrounding area is safe and quiet. The view is very nice. Very close to bus station where you can get to the city in around 30-60 mins.
The booking site can be improved. I booked for female room with 3 beds, but it turned out later that the hotel doesn't have this type of room and I ended up in female room with 6 beds :(
They also didn't assign you with bed number (which other hostels usually do) hence everyday I should re-check in my room card (if anyone check out from that room, the system will automatically log out all others key card for this room).
There was always queue in the reception, perhaps in the peak time (e.g. check in time), the hotel can assign more staffs at the reception.
They have USB adapter in the room which is very convenient for EU traveler.
