Bed bugs, no room replacement, and no proper reimbursement

Location is close to the beach

We found bed bugs in our room on the second night of our stay. We had four nights booked, but since it was New Year’s Eve and the hotel was fully booked, we were forced to find alternative accommodations on our own. The hotel did not provide us with another room, and for health and safety reasons, we could not remain in the same infested room. Despite this, the hotel refused to cover the cost of the accommodations we had to book elsewhere due to the bed bug issue. They also did not fully reimburse us for the two nights we were unable to stay. We documented the infestation by taking videos of the bed bugs and even brought samples directly to the manager to prove the room was infested. This situation caused significant stress, inconvenience, and unexpected expenses. The lack of support and accountability from hotel management was extremely disappointing.

You're paying for the location, not for a beautiful room.

The location is great, and I always felt safe. Breakfast has plenty of options. The bed is very comfortable, and I generally slept well.

The hotel is not cheap, and for the price that you pay, I was kind of underwhelmed by the room. The bathroom is very small with barely any room to maneuver at all. There were also a lot of flies/bugs in my room that bit me throughout the night. I killed at least five a day, but they still kept coming in somehow.

Lovely hotel, great location.

The location, five minutes to the beach and surrounded by excellent places to eat. Plenty of hot water for showers. Room was clean and quiet. Staff very helpful despite language difficulties. Would recommend.

More hanging space, drawers for clothes. The bar was never open.

Perfect place to stay in Ipanema

Nothing can beat the location - the perfect place to stay in Ipanema. Lots of great restaurants around, Ipanema beach 2mins walk away, I felt very safe in this area. Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My room was perfect for a solo traveller and was kept immaculately clean by the housekeeper throughout my stay. Breakfast is superb - a real treat for food lovers!!!!

Great location

The location of this accommodation is excellent, surrounded by all kinds of restaurants. We stayed five nights and tried a different place each day, with still plenty left to choose from. There are also lots of shops nearby if you enjoy shopping, and it’s close to ipanema Beach. Getting around was easy, and there was always security at the door, which felt reassuring. Breakfast was okay, nothing special but decent.

The Wi-Fi was quite poor, especially in the evenings when we often couldn’t connect at all. The hotel also offered tours to watch football matches, but we found them to be rather overpriced, which was a pity since the actual entry tickets weren’t that expensive we might have booked otherwise. Another thing to note is that some of the staff, particularly at breakfast, often looked unfriendly. A smile here and there would make a big difference.

Great price, location and hotel. Would definitely return!lovely staff!

The rooms were spacious and beds were fairly comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options and available nice and early. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and helped us with tours and taxis.

We were facing the street which was noisy at night with some partiers outside. It was the only thing we didn’t like but we used earplugs and turned on the air con which was fine. It is a great place.

The location simply cannot be beat. Plus a noon checkout is fantastic.

The wifi was pretty terrible. It's an open network (no password) and from 4pm to 11pm it's basically unusable with so many people on it.

Comfortable beds, great location.

Rooms were impeccably clean and beds very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location with lovely bars and cafes close by and Ipanema beach just a 5 minute walk away. Staff were really helpful and there is a carpark a few doors away.

Breakfast was not great. There was a large selection and the fruit was lovely, but the hot food, breads and cakes were poor. For the price of the hotel the breakfast should have been better quality. There was a lot of noise from the street - even for us on the 10th floor.

Overall the hotel would’ve been a perfect place to stay if they changed their beds,pillows, and air condition units.

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, and the room was really clean. We found the location of the property to be amazing as it was at the center of everything and very close to the beach. The coffee was also good.

Although the breakfast had a lot of dessert options, I would have liked to have more hot meals and soup. Sometimes, the food was also cold. We found the bed and pillows to be extremely uncomfortable. The air condition unit was also very noisy as if we had a motorcycle in our room all night. It was really hard to sleep.

Great location in an outdated hotel. Needs a huge refresh. Staff need a little lightening up and some sense of humour

The location was great safe and easy access to everything, Ubers at the door and the beach a minute walk away.

The facilities were very outdated, no entertainment and nothing to do on downtime at all. Restaurant and mini bar on level 1 were only ever open for breakfast and was told on check in room service is not available.

Decor is very outdated, rooms and foyer do not longer look like in the photos. Hallways smell like humidity. Breakfast was basic, there wasn’t even a toaster, had to use sandwich presser to toast bread.

Great location but reduced space and lacks a ramp

The location in Ipanema, just 2 streets away from the beach was great. It was also close to anything we needed like drugstores, restaurants, shopping malls, desserts, etc. I think it was a bit expensive compared to what if offers but I understand this can be because of the location. Breakfast was good but not amazing, very basic. One of the highest points was the attention by bellboys, especially one of them who was always prompt to help me with my son and the stroller.

They have an elevator but there are some stairs to get there but no ramp. I was with my child on a stroller all the time and while the bellboys were extremely nice and helpful every time I was alone with my child, a ramp is very much needed. Also, the space between rooms in the floor we got (first floor) was very small and it was hard to move around, especially when the cleaning carts where out there.
