High and lows. The room with private bath and Fujisan view is absolutely fantastic. The bed was ultra comfortable. But...
Power went away 4am, and security lights went on, even the floodlights over the bed, and could turn them off. No info whatsoever and you need a long walk to get to reception, with phone, toilet and open bath NOT working with out power. At 8am, less than average breakfast, still with no power in the property, you had to use shared toilet and baths. We were offered no refunds.

Peaceful hotel with really nice japanese- style rooms, good private bathtub with a perfect view on Mt. Fuji Good dinner and breakfast at the Laforet restaurant (not the Marriott)
The food at the Marriott restaurant (part of the Laforet resort) was really disappointing for the price The overall resorts feels abandoned, with some parts really deteriorated due to lack of maintenance/renovations

This hotel had a lot of potential and the room itself was fantastic, but unfortunately the service did not quite meet the standard we expected. I had emailed the hotel a month before our stay to let them know we were travelling with two adults and a toddler. However, when we arrived, it seemed that our toddler’s stay had not been accounted for, and we were told there was no meal available for him that evening. Because the hotel is located quite remotely in the mountains, there were not many alternatives. After some discussion with the kitchen, they kindly agreed to allow him to join dinner. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were given an empty plate for him with no explanation or communication about whether a meal was being prepared. We ended up sharing our own dinner with him and asking for an extra bowl of rice so he would have enough to eat. It was disappointing, especially as I had made it clear beforehand that we were travelling with a toddler and would have happily paid for a children’s meal if needed. Apart from this, the stay itself was pleasant. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was good, and the location was peaceful. It just felt like a little more attention and communication could have made the experience much better.

The onsen on the balcony is lovely, liked that the toilte was separate from the bathroom. Beds were comfortable but pillows were too flat for my liking. We would've had perfect Moutn Fuji View from our cabin but unfortunately it was overcast. Staff was friendly, did not speak a lot of English, but we managed OK.
The location was a lot more remote than I had planned, also the actual cabin from the restaurant. I had not realized it was quite far. When we got to our location the nearest dinner option was fully booked so we had to go to the Marriott hotel and because we were so remote, the prices of the meal I thought were quite steep. The cabin and couch and table are quite dated and the room smelled a but musty.
