The Blackburn Inn and Conference Center

Loved the historical building with all the fabulous details. The breakfast was outstanding, and the location was perfect; it was a short walk to the cute historical section of Staunton. The price was VERY reasonable for what you got.

The "queen" bed was more like full size. We could have used a few more pillows, but we arrived late.

Gorgeous setting, like a step back in time. The common areas were a delight while it poured outside, the stairs up to the rooftop so fun, the room with its high ceilings and separate area really pleasant. And staff was loads of fun to talk to about the area and vibe of the town.

Should be “BYOP”- Bring Your Own Pillows. Theirs were horrendous, which is a surprise since everything else was so high end.

Breakfast was very good, but not included in the room cost. There was only one person who was the waiter and cook, so if it had been busy, that might have been difficult for him to keep up with. Very spacious room with super comfortable Queen bed and sofa bed for our granddaughter in a separate room. Huge bathroom with marble tile and modern rain shower enclosure. 2 TVs in the room. This historic property is a short walking distance from the downtown area, but removed from it and on a vast piece of property that is gorgeous. We didn't use the bar in the evening, but they serve drinks and small bites. Had we had more time, we would have used the spa for sure!

There is not a pool on the property, but they did suggest a public park with an Olympic pool very nearby that we went to. There was a small charge to enter, but it was a very nice pool. I would have preferred one on the property however.

Good location. The building has the potential to have a nice, historical feel.

They bill themselves as a fancy spa and conference center - some day this will be a nice place, but the hotel portion where we stayed needs a lot of work. The reading light for my wife did not work and the desk staff was not helpful at all. We checked in the morning and they had not ever put in a work order to get it fixed. The key cards both stopped working in the evening, and when that happens their wonderful system also disables their electronic cell phone key app at the same time. Has we come back later in the evening we would have been locked out. The windows had gross cobwebs inside (bigger than a square foot in diameter) because no one had ever cleaned them. There is construction all around the property. To get into the property, you have to carry your luggage into the basement and take an elevator up - it's just weird. We didn't use the spa - maybe that is nice.
