Amelia Cottage

Amelia cottage is a lovely house, very roomy and very well-equipped. It has a great garden as well. Alan met us to give us the keys and very thoughtfully supplied us with bread, milk, butter, tea, jam and biscuits, which was very much appreciated. We had a great couple of days - the location is excellent for visiting Battle and the surrounding area.

Everything was good - no complaints!

Lovely place in a perfect location with parking. Very clean and warm. We have stayed here before and will stay again. Excellent host.

The property is very well located approx. 100 yards from the top of Battle high street. We were attending a wedding at the Abbey Church and The Abbey so Amelia Cottage was very convenient. The property itself is very well equipped and clean. The ladies in the party especially appreciated the number of mirrors and well located sockets for makeup and hair drying etc. The kitchen is also stocked with essentials that you don't really want to buy, such as washing up liquid, foil, salt etc. Also, the welcome pack of coffee, tea, milk, butter, bread and jam, as well as a packet of chocolate biscuits was a welcome surprise. There is lots of clean spare bedding if required, permanent hot water and a good shower. Overall we loved our stay and found the property charming and just what we needed. The landlord of the property was easily contacted and attentive when required.

The furnishings are a little tired, but these somehow add to the charm of the property.

This is a great place to stay if you want to visit Battle. It is like a home from home. Sleeps 5 bedrooms are very tastefully decorated. They also have towels displayed on each bed. There's an iron and ironing board and also has a washing machine in an outdoor shed. You get a large bottle of milk, a full loaf of bread, butter, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar. It is also a two minute walk from Battle main Street. I couldn't really fault anything.

My only gripe is the bathroom is downstairs. Each bedroom has a torch or two so you can see going downstairs during the night
