Perfect place to stay whilst working up in north wales.

Property had off road parking, key collection was easy, property was clean and had comfy beds. All kitchenware was supplied and overall had a great experience whilst at the property.

No tumble dryer, had to use the spin feature on washing machine, was difficult to dry clothes. Other than that property was absolutely exceptional

We loved the property and the location.

Beautiful decor, two bathrooms, large well stocked kitchen/dining room, good location, clean, own parking for two cars.

During our stay a funfair was set on the main road blocking exit from the top of Chapel Street

It's all done with mirrors.

Spotless property, and with all the glass and mirrors, that was quite a feat. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. Impressed enough to rebook for September before this holiday was over. It's a quiet location, a small walk from the Menai Strait and a reasonable walk to The Antelope which has a good range of food, (justbover the Menai Bridge.) Two large bathrooms with great showers and a gorgeous roll-top bath in one. Water pressure is impressive too. If the location suits your needs, you'll be hard pressed to find better. We usually stay in or near Llanberis for the mountains but with our eldest son now living on Anglesey, we wanted to be closer to him. This put us in his locale but still close enough to the mountains to drive to Llanberis, Ogwen and Betwys Y Coed for our usual treks.

The patio door sticks at the bottom and can be a challenge but it's so apparent, I'd imagine the owner has plans to fix that soon. The chilled drinks part of the Smeg fridge doesn't sit in its cradle so doesn't work but as we didn't expect one, it didn't matter.

Nice property, good location.

Location. Outside was very neat and tidy. Whilst the internal is very well thought out, it is in need of decoration and a little refresh. Lovely kitchen and bathrooms.

Wasn’t as clean as I would have preferred. Skirting boards dirty as were internal doors. The sofas and cushions were well worn. When removing bedding I was uncomfortable with blood stains on quilts and bedding. That was both double rooms.

Felt like being at home the minute we walked in the door.

The decor, the feeling of comfort, the location - very close to the Menai Straits and bridge.

Perhaps a more personal touch. We had no connection with the hosts at all this visit, like we did last time we stayed here in October 2021.

No WiFi and unhelpful guests

I asked repeatedly for the WiFi password and no one got back to me at all. Even after I left no one came back to me and apologised Do yourself a favour, to there is a nicer hotel 100 meters away called the victoria inn. Much nicer and I bet the staff will help you Btw, there is hardly ever signal up there so it you don't have WiFi, it can be very difficult

The house was very comfortable and warm. My mum , who is 88 loved it.

A bannister on both sides of the stairs would have been of benefit to my mum.

Exceeded expectation by miles

The bottle of fizz found on arrival was a lovely touch. The house was perfect for us- clean, classy and a great location.

Oh jeez, I don't want to complain at all really!! My only concern is personal because of my health problem only- but the wet room showers without handrails proved a little tricky.

Really good, well-equipped house in an nice location. We will definitely go back.

This is a really well equipped quirky/characterful house in a very good location. Handy outdoor space and good parking. We were a small group but it would work well for 5-6 people (two full bathrooms, excellent large kitchen/diner). Very convenient for local walks along the Straits and lots of good places to eat inside a short walk.

We had a problem on arrival that was dealt with quickly and efficiently. There is nothing to dislike about this property.

The house itself was very comfortable - a home from home. Based on some of the previous feedback I'd read on another site, you can see lots of improvements have been made, so I wouldn't be concerned by old reviews. Great location in Menai Bridge - close to Menai straits and the Belgian walk, shops, cafes pubs and restaurants. Beautiful sunny garden -such a little suntrap and lovely outdoor furniture. Very enjoyable stay and would like to rent again.

Very little. House was generally very clean. A little welcome pack (tea, milk) would have been a lovely touch upon arrival. There was some road noise - but this was not an issue for us.

Washer didn't work. Ground floor shower flooded. No available safety gate for stairs for toddlers. Cooker didn't work. Had to strip beds, which is a first. Otherwise OK.

An oasis to rest and recuperate after a day’s activities

We rented the Art Deco house in beautiful Menai Bridge for a week and loved our stay there. It is spacious, with abundant natural light, a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. It has been well designed and renovated by a family that really cares about ensuring clients are well looked after. Subtle touches of colour in the form of paintings and other accessories enhance the atmosphere and make it a relaxing place to stay. It is very functional, good value for money and is a great base for exploring the locality and all its wonderful scenery. We were grateful for the opportunity to recharge our batteries at the end of each day in this lovely property.

Had a problem with the electrics, downstairs lighting tripped when outside lights turned on. booked through Sykes agents who were very helpful and once we had a code could access the fuse box to reset.

Disappointing

Spacious rooms

There was a fault in the electrics which caused frequent switching off and we could not use upstairs room without lights. The kitchen ceiling leaked and flooded the kitchen.we were unable to use the additional shower room. The complaint made has not been resolved satisfactorily. I would not be booking again with Sykes cottages or booking .com in future.

Perfect for our needs!

Very comfortable beds. Very clean. Excellent towels provided. Super and spacious kitchen. Excellent showers. Lovely decor throughout. Perfect for us - family of 5 adults visiting family! Good location (but just to note there is some road noise).

Minor points: inadequate blinds in bedrooms 2 & 3; no locks on either bathroom; just to note bedroom 2 has twin beds.
