Pen Hill

I was visiting the Vale of Glamorgan with my friends for a 10-year high school reunion, and this place welcomed us incredibly well. It’s a large house that easily accommodates up to six people with everything you need for a week-long stay. It’s nicely located — Llantwit Major is a charming little town with a few places to shop and eat. The coastline is easily accessible on foot, and bus and train connections make it easy to explore all of South Wales.

We were very happy with our stay. A slight drawback was a fair amount of dust in some rooms and on some furniture, which may be an issue for people with allergies. As a suggestion, adding barbecue equipment in the backyard would make for incredible nights with family and friends while enjoying the beautiful Welsh summer.

It was spacious and well equipped reasonably clean 👍 a few cobwebs and when we moved a few things we could quite obviously see that it hadn’t been touched for a while. Apart from that it really was a splendid place to stay 🫶

2 things Firstly it took us a while to find all the keys to windows and doors. I wouldn’t say it was a massive problem but we couldn’t find the key to the patio. We eventually did after 2 days. If you were to leave the keys in the appropriate location that would help. (us anyway 😂) Secondly coming from Germany we are not familiar with the sorting system for waste and recycling. There was an A4 paper info but we didn’t see it until half way through the week. We got it in the end but an immediate or obvious info would have been helpful. I say that with tongue in cheek because we were very busy and didn’t have much time.

Maison confortable accueillante et très bien située. Très agréable pour visites et detente. Joli petit jardin avec un magnifique pommier. Beaucoup de place et de confortables canapés pour se détendre.

La maison a besoin d’un nettoyage dans les coins, sèche linge ne fonctionne pas et le lavabo d’une salle de bains a besoin d’être débouché. Mais cela ne nous a pas gêné.

House big and old fashioned - really nice and different. Great facilities and equipment. Location - near town centre and beach.

A few cobwebs, but expected in such a property.
