The Old Schoolhouse and Cottage

Huge, lots of character, beautiful gardens, lovely owner and garden staff, plenty of accommodation , very sociable space - we held our murder mystery there and had a lot of fun No cheap but where broken down to cost / room it’s not too bad value really

Top floor accommodation too warm (in August to be fair), tennis court looking a bit neglected, broken glass around greenhouse and garden room could be hazardous for younger children, cooker range in kitchen (no doubt expensive and impressive) was hard to use (although owner, to his credit, spent quite a bit of time giving instructions). Driveway very tight but once in loads of space for our 5 cars

A lovely big old house with wonderful gardens, just perfect for family groups. If you are looking for gorgeous countryside and nice old fashioned quirky town with great beer, this is the place to be. Adrian, the owner, could not be more helpful. We had a great week.
