About this house rental
Our home is lovely, large and comfortable. It is located "On The Hill" in Great Barrington, MA. which means we are virtually minutes away on foot from wonderful restaurants, shopping, cinema, concert and theater venues. Great Barrington is proud to have been voted 'Best Small Town in America" last year by Smithsonian Magazine. In the summer the wraparound porch is spacious enough for dinner parties or just relaxing in the hammock or wicker furniture. In the music room you'll find an excellent Steinway grand piano. The rooms are big, the floor plan is circular and everywhere it is flooded with light.We have a large, private backyard with a beautiful old apple tree, perennial gardens and a rose covered arbor.
The Berkshire Hills area of Massachusetts is a destination point for travelers interested in culture and history and the great outdoors. We are 20 minutes away from Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and just over 2 hours from either New York City or Boston (a convenient train is available close by for travel to NYC). There is year 'round theatre, music and dance concerts, museums, lecture series, etc. In terms of outdoor activities, we are surrounded by astounding natural beauty which includes both lakes and mountains and all the activities these provide to the outdoorsman.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely, spacious house. Filled with natural light, well equipped with a full kitchen, and plenty of room to relax and enjoy. Our favorite spot was the front porch from morning breakfast to hanging out in the evenings. Walking distance to the town and the lake was also a plus. We would love to return for another visit.

This house is a historic gem, and so are the owners! The house is filled with books and music that are generously shared with guests. The only slight discomfort was no central air during a heat spell, but the ceiling fans worked well along with window AC units when necessary. The whole experience was wonderful.

We had a wonderful time in Great Barrington because we felt so at home at this beautiful house. It’s a short walk into town, but incredibly peaceful and calm. Our hosts went out of their way to help us to feel welcomed, and offered help when we needed advice or assistance. There’s lots of room for a family to enjoy spending time together on the porch, in the living room or in the back yard. We also loved all the cultural events, hikes and delicious food available in Great Barrington. We are so glad we found this wonderful family home!
