Oasis on the edge of town.

Le mas des cerisiers is an oasis surrounded by cherry trees. ‘Le mas des cerisiers’ is located on the beautiful ile de la Barthelasse, This is Europe’s largest river island nestled in the arms of the Rhone river- 700 hectares of calm, trees, fields and fruit trees, it is only 15 minutes drive from the historic centre of Avignon. The occasional mistral blows through the poplar trees, bringing a welcome cooling respite the summer heat of Avignon. Carine and Christian are warm and welcoming hosts. Offering simple plates of charcuterie and cheese on the vine covered terrace of their traditional farmhouse or within its environs. For tapas and cocktails we also enjoyed visiting ‘mas de Capalou’, just few minutes walk away. We had a lovely stay balancing relaxation, local culture and delicious food.

Beautiful true old French countryside experience!

The grounds and swimming pool were amazing. But the rooms upstairs were in a 1630 house and there was a ghost! They should advertise this. This place was true French countryside luxury! Christian and his wife were so friendly and attentive to us .The location was perfect. 10-15 minutes from Avignon old town! This was by far the best place we stayed in on our month long trip to the south of France. We will come back here!

The owners are very kind and helpful, perfect location (15 min drive from Avignon center), surrounded by nature great gateway from the city and comfortable amenities.

Suggestions: The family room where we stayed has some drain problems. It was a bit smelly. Although breakfast is included in the price, there should be more variety.

Very good

The location was very nice, in a secluded area, within orchards, about 10 min outside Avignon proper (20 min from TGV/car rental). It was a great location to serve as a base for our 4 days in Provence. About one hour drive to Aix, 40 min to Pont du Gard, etc Breakfast was very nice with delicious homemade yogurt, fruit and croissants/pain au choco/pain Aix raisins. Christian and Karine were very kind! Christian provided us with a book of activities

-Smell of cigarettes in the home -water from the faucet had a bad taste

Countryside relaaxtion

Large rooms which were nicely decorated in a beautiful setting which was easily accessible by car. Hosts were also very accommodating with our baby’s needs.

Difficult to communicate with hosts who only spoke French. We were also disappointed to note that the beds were not made and rooms were not cleaned during our stay. Breakfast was also quite limited, especially for those with dietary requirements.

Comfy one night stay in a secluded spot near Avignon town.

We didn’t arrive until 8pm and checked out early the next morning, However, the gentleman who greeted us was very friendly. The gite we had was excellent for the one night and everything required for a comfy stay.

Quiet place

It was not a bad experience, however there is nothing I would come back for. Overall the location was nice, just a bit confusing. The swimming pool was too small and not super inviting. At breakfast there was nothing special or handmade (just some yogurt taken from the supermarket and some croissants). The room was new, but not original and with fake plants. The staff was available, however it was not possible to communicate (they don't speak any English).

Great Provence vibes and ideal location to explore Avignon and beyond. We loved relaxing by the pool after a day of exploring. Our cottage was clean and comfortable. 9 min easy drive to Avignon. Courteous and friendly service. We will stay here again.

Cosy and beautiful

I loved the location close to Avignon surrounded by a beautiful nature. The room was very cosy and the bed was of high quality. Breakfast was very good and Camille and Julien are perfect host bringing to the place a special touch. I will for sure go back for another stay.

Our stay at Mas des Cerisiers was amazing. The house and property are beautiful- a quiet oasis of calm and peace. Julian and Camille were the most gracious hosts. Their breakfasts were delicious and they were so helpful and caring whenever we had questions about the area. Your next stay in Avignon must be at Mas des Cerisiers!

Le jacuzzi on as failli être asphyxié tellement y’avait du chlore . Le lit des ressort et on s enfonce dedans . Dans la salle où on as prit le petit déjeuner le chat était couché sur l armoire et allongé sur les set de tables . J ai été recouverte de plaque le lendemain le médecin m’a dit que c était des acariens

Super petit déjeuner, des produits fait maison et très bon! La piscine lagon est juste WAOUH! Les propriétaires sont vraiment adorables et passionnés ! Les petits chalets sont hyper chouette, une très jolie décoration et très bien fourni (serviette, coton-tige, démaquillant, shampooing et gel douche, machine à café, plaque de cuisson, frigo et j'en oublie sûrement) bien meilleur qu'un hôtel et dépaysement assuré! Nous l'avons choisi sur photos pour nos 10 ans de mariage et bien nous sommes plus que ravis! Vous pouvez vous y rendre les yeux fermés ! Un très grand merci pour votre accueil chaleureux.
